Strobe kits

Hey guys,

GETTING A NEW TRUCK TOMORROW, FINALLY THE HARD WORK IS STARTING TO PAY OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

My question is this,

I do alot of mowing on main roads and also i normally find my self having to park on the main road for both power washing and mowing. One of my mowing accounts is for the city so my truck is alway off to the side of the road but still in it. Last week we had a near miss when a guy was flying down the road and about hit me (on the mower) and my truck so i ordered some new work shirts (the safety green-yellow color) and im gonna put a strobe kit in my truck for a little added safety

Has any one done this and if so where did you buy the good from?

thanks guys

Depends, What kind of strobes do you want? Do you want it on the cab, or do you want it hidden> www.awdirect.com

Those are cool, but the problem that I have with that type of light is visibility. You need to make sure that the lights are visible from a long distance. The strobes aren't super visible in the daylight, in my opinion. You also might want to see what your city contract requires. Sometimes they say you have to be in compliance with something like a barricade manual and it will specify warning lights. I am actually surprised they have not made you get them before, since you are parking in traffic lanes.
For the integrated strobes you can get the LED versions that do not require a power supply, and are far more energy efficient. Also if one of them burns out, there are a whole bunch more in the tree. I have some that have a cluster of about 30 in the tree.
In my truck, I have amber LED's that are AW direct LED's. I have two ovals in the upper corners and then a big LED display in the center of the rear window. It works for me, and I am in traffic a lot.

Scott the city i am doing work for is actually a really good contract for my first one. It is a small small SMALL city out in the county maybe a 100 or so people and they don't even have a contract i sign i made one lol

I just remembered my cousins step dad is a constable and has his truck all decked out so im gonna talk to him today thanks guys

I'll POST PICTURES OF MY NEW TRUCK WHEN I GET IT LATER!!!!!!

I was thinking about jacking up my 4 wheel drive and putting a Red Strobe bar on the top ... But I think thats a federal crime... Just go down to your local NAPA and by some clear strobes.. or do like Nate and get a yellow strobe on the top of your truck.. I have Two yellow lights on the back of my trailer that are hooed to a switch/relay and a flasher .. They are low watt and they are hooked to the battery on the whitco machine.. I also inherited some Orange Cones ( ain't saying where) I put these out as well.. Also what about a sign that says Caution Men Working or Mowing what ever the case may be...
