Here was a deck I stripped a while back that had Flood Acrylic. I think that wet formula they had what junk. Deck was stripped brightened the stained with Gray Away Cedar Gold Blend.

Great job Shane! Sure looks very professional.

Have you ever had issues with grass after the job was done or do you let them know that the chemicals can burn the grass but not kill it? Just wondering as the strippers can be hard on grass sometimes.

Thanks.

Thanks Chris!

Yeah I always tell them when i'm bidding what might happen ahead of time. If you set the expectations before hand they are usually easy to work with. It's St. Augustine so just add water and poof it's back again. They usually like the idea of not having to weed eater so close to the wood.

Those look great. I am curiouse as to the amount of old stain that is left on the wood. 0% 4% 6%? or do you get every bit of it off?
thanks

Well my goal is to get 100% of the old stain off but it's not always the case but for the most part maby 5% may be left.If there are some heavy areas of stain still left I'll do some light sanding If needed with some 50 grit min.

Depending on the type of old stain that was stripped for the most part it will blend in with the Gray away oil base stain I use. The deck cracks are usually the most difficult to strip but you need to have patience and strip multiple times and longer dwell times.

Shayne, It was good to talk with ya thanks for taking the time to answer some of my questions. The hardest for me are the verticles. fronts and sides of the deck. I have a real hard time with waiting, I think I get to anxious and dont wait long enough.

Shane, how many hours and trips did it take to do that job?

It really turned out nice.

1 trip to clean and 1 to stain total 14 hrs

Now it takes half that time to maintain it every couple yrs.
