Spray and forget Product

Hello Folks,

I do not normally do roofs but was asked to quote a single story ranch that had moss on the roof. The home owner asked if we used a product called Sprayandforget, I did a search and found their web site and it looks like a good product, but I am sure there is a down side to using it.

Has anyone used it or is there a better product that I could use to clean moss off roof's with out using the pressure washer? I may add roof cleaning if it works out.

Thank you in advance

New Guy,
Please don't use the term "pressure washer" in the same sentence as "clean moss off roof".

Sorry my man - had to pick with you, but I will give you a little advice. Do some serious research on roof cleaning by searching around in this forum as well as other forums. It is appreciated that you are asking for help before going destroy someones roof, but you can't go cleaning a roof with pressure and can't get chems strong enough with injectors.

I unfortunately don't deal with moss on a roof in my area, but I have heard of spray and forget. The reason you have to "forget" about it is because the cleaning process is not fast at all. Have family member who uses it because "it won't kill my plants". I tried to explain to him my process for roof cleaning, and as much as he appreciated it, he still used his stuff. Went by his house a few weeks ago and the roof looks great!

Yeah I understand that using pressure will damage the roof, that is why I have not added it to my list of services, so I hear ya. But I am getting more and more requests to price out roof cleaning so this is why I am starting to look more into maybe adding it, NUT I do not want to do something that I do not know anything about. So what you said that your family member used spray and forget and the roof came out great, I am guessing the stuff works ok?

Although we recommend using our “no rinse” application method since it is far safer, easier and less labor intensive, you can get rapid results using Spray & Forget. You would apply a 5 parts water to 1 part Spray & Forget concentrate mixture to the surface to be treated. Make sure that you apply to a dry surface with at least 24 hours before any heavy rainfall (check your weather forecast). Wait at least 12 hours after applying Spray & Forget and rinse with a pressure washer using low to medium pressure (~100-500 PSI).[/FONT]
