This is a different kind of poll.
The question is:

What past experience in your life has most affected your current success level?

RON P

the bad
NOT GETTING ANY OTHER EDUCATION PAST HIGH SCHOOL.
the good
Starting out not knowing one thing about tires and in 2 years become the service manager with 12 employee's working for me.
The ugly
Watch the co. go under because the owner got drunk and smashed into a broken down van at 60 mph and loosing that chance to become a part owner. He lost everything.
The future
I am going to start night school next semester and JUST do pressure washing during the day.[full time]
The goal
To run a successfull pressure washing buissness from a office not on the end of a pressure line.
As much as i dislike FLEETWASH i am going to do my best to seek out the best of what they do and the worst. Then fix it, for my use.
Dont know if this is what you were looking for Scott?

My family probably has made the biggest difference in my life. Parents that owned and operated there businesses and being exposed to the daily running of what it takes to run a successful business.

Destiny: I believe and always have that we make our own destiny and control what we become.

My Father: When my father died in 1996 that was probably the largest turning point in my life. Made me realize we are not going to be here forever, and we should enjoy it as much as possible.

There are a few things that affected me and my drive.
1. I grew up a poor kid in a very wealthy neighborhood. I don't know how my parents did it, especially with six kids, but they managed.
2. I had a lot of work experiences that helped to learn how to dela with people.
3. I was told that I would never amount to anything without a college degree at an early age.
I guess I felt like I had somethign to prove.

My father owned a tire/auto repair business and I knew when I finished high school I had a job. I had the pleasure of working with him for 7 years until he had passed away in 1990 at the age of 55. My brother and I had keep the business running for another 5 years until we sold it . I beleave my father was the influence in my life that showed me to never quit and he showed me how to deal with people. He taught me... What the mind can believe and conceive it can achieve... There is 2 books out there I think anyone that owns a business should read 1 is called how to win friends and influence people by dale carnege the other is a book called the magic of thinking big.

I am not saying I am where I want to be yet, but am on the way. I think a big part was growing up in a very bad area and learning life on the streets, not in a school room. I then joined the military, best thing I ever did. It was the start of the transformation. I moved out of state after my tour and also learned people aren't always the way you percieve them. I think I may be rambling now and may have gotten off track, but another big thing was people always telling me I couldn't do it, so guess what, WATCH ME!!!

No parents, no siblings, no idols no one has given me any strength or wisdom to achieve any goals, Being very poor was an exceptional motivator for me.

fortune favors the bold, so i just keep looking ahead
