Soliciting Next Door to Customer

I recently made this short letter to hand out to potential customers around the area where I just worked. Does anyone else do this? It's great advertising to get customers near your regular accounts. <!-- attachments -->

I had to switch it to a "txt" document to load on this post. The form I use has my logo, and looks professional. This sample is only showing the text, but you get the idea...
 
Publish it as a PDF. For a free PDF converter go to download.com and search for CUTE PDF. Great program.

I like the idea of the letter.
 
Good idea.

When we were a service co. I had the guys place magnets, door fliers or even business cards at least at the four surrounding properties. (two right next door, and two across the steet) Would only take about 5 minutes as compared to canvasing a whole neighborhood. Got a lot of work this way. Those who like to "keep up with the Jones's" don't want thier neighbors looking better than they do, so a call is usually generated!:woot:

Just stencil them and leave the price...
 
I started doing proximity marketing after every Job, I put up a sign in the customers yard, and place 10-15 door hangers saying, we just did your neighbors, take a look at the diffrence pressure washing can make, blah blah, it has worked really well!

Sad thing is I just started doing this, in only the last month, Wish I did it sooner, But next year I will do it every job
 
I am wanting to do more of this.
Besides the printing, paper, door hangars, or whatever you use, it's free advertising, and the potential customer gets to see your work.
My letter starts off with "we just cleaned the concrete at_____________________near your location". The bottom of the sheet has some before and after pics.
I will even leave one at locations I have already given one to before. For example, accounts I do every two weeks, I'll leave one at the surrounding stores every two weeks. Maybe they will notice I am consistently there, and give us a call.
