Smooth hose lasts twice as long

At least, compared to the wrapped. For me, anyways, all flatwork.

I know whenever I'm winding up hose I'm always happy when I get to my last section which is non marking. It's so much easier to guide and roll. I think I am going to replace all my hose with 200 feet of blue spiralflex 2wire 6000 psi.
Edit sprayflex not spiralflex.

Get one of these:

Wet it and hold the hose while you're winding and guiding it. It lets it go in smooth and cleans it as you're winding it.

Yeah that would help. We do use a heavy wet rag all folded up usually.
Where did you get that mitt? Is it real thick? Wouldn't want any stray wires poking through it.

I think I got it at Lowes, but they are all over the place. Saw a couple at the dollar store when I was getting some Gain the other day. I have two fresh ones in the tool box so I didn't bother to look at the price. I never had anything poke through. They tend to wear out between the thumb area but last pretty long. I usually dip it in some house wash before I wind up. Cleans the hose real nice too.

Yes, it will Tony, had to clean up some stuff years ago that had roofing tar on them and melted asphalt shingles also.

Gasoline is dangerous, always be safe and careful when using gas for anything else than running engines.

I should have thougt about the gasoline trick a little while back after we cleaned four tracked cranes and some other equipment. Man there was grease on everything for months. Especially the hose. Just be prepared for it if you wash any equipment. I've got a step ladder with that dang grease still on it.
