Slate Roof Cleaning Tampa FL - Using Lift

Apple Roof Cleaning

Roof Cleaning Instructor
Here is a Slate Roof we just did in Tampa using an Articulating Boom Lift.
You will see Rich, our ground man, adding some of the New Envirospec Roof Cleaning Additive.
It worked good, smelled better then the normal mix alone.
Slate Roofs can not be walked on, if they are thin.
They require only shingle roof strength chemical.
We thought we were going to have problems getting the lift through the gate, and it was touchy operating it in the back of the house. The back of the house has a pool, jacuuzi, trees, etc, etc.
This 10,000 Sq Ft home belongs to a Famous Athlete.
To respect his privacy, his name will not be revealed.

I shed a tear for the old Isuzu NPR Apple Roof Cleaning Truck.
At 350,000 miles, this may be her LAST BIG Roof.
She has cleaned more roofs in Tampa then ANY other roof cleaning truck I know of.
Look at her, just sitting there calmly with Dual 300 Gallon Tanks feeding Dual 15 GPM Pumps, supplying the Firepower to take down this monster roof.
Her replacement is coming on line, and soon she will be "semi retired" to doing only back up duty.
I sincerely reccommend an Isuzu NPR Flatbed as a Roof Cleaning Truck.

More Tampa Slate Roof Cleaning.
If you look closely in picture number 3, that is Copper over the dormer.
You can SEE where the cleaning chemical took the Patina OFF the Copper.
We told our customers this would happen, and offered them the alternative of masking this off.
They like the shiny copper they said.
I TRIED to capture us spraying ALL the copper intentionally, so it would all look the same.
The customers LOVED the "new copper".
From a distance, it glows like a Castle, it really looks cool.

I wouldn't think chris is worried about a few dollars after those houses!!lol

Chris that really is ALL the house. How did it feel working for a celebrity? Next you"ll be the roof cleaner of the stars! LOL. Very nice job there Mr. Apple. :D Who's next? Wesley Snipes. Don't forget to charge him tax! LMAO

Well, I dont know what it is going to sell for, and they gave me 4 different blends to test.
This was blend # 4
The container holding blend # 4 was slightly cracked open from UPS throwing the packages around.
That is why we went out of sequence.
As far as SMELL goes, that is very subjective.
It smelled "Institutional" to me, but then so do other things.
The smell of the Mix was masked to a good, but not perfect degree.
But then, perhaps we did not have enough added ?
I noticed no added cling, but there was a noticeable difference in speed of cleaning.'
For instance, we were using a weak solution, weak shingle strength, really almost inadequate for a one pass shingle roof cleaning on a Grey, Silver, Or White Roof/
WHY such a weak mixture ?
Because this is a Multi Million Dollar Home, and a Slate Roof.
Job number ONE is to protect the integrity of our customers Slate Roof.
I have made many mistakes, early in my roof cleaning career, and using STRONG solutions on a Slate Roof can DULL the finish!

In one picture, you can see us cleaning the front pavers.
Kevin, our Roof Man, was not looking forward to cleaning blackened pavers with such a weak solution.
Surprisingly, they cleaned right up.

There was severe Mildew back in rear of home by A/C Units, on the wall.
I hit it, waited, and it started cleaning.
I waited, hit it once more, and bye bye!
I have sprayed this stuff 4 to 6 times with just SH and water before, with the weak strength solution we were using this day.

To be critical of The Envirospec Beta Roof Cleaning Mix, I would LIKE to see more CLING.

But it is no better, or worse, IMHO, then Simple Cherry or TSP, in it's cling ability.

I feel LIQUID Surfactants cling a bit better.

The cleaning power seems to be there, and the smell is better then the Mix alone.

Oh, before I forget, it RINSED very well, much faster then TSP.

Remember, this is a TEST product, NOT a final formulation.

Larry, YOU know who the Athlete was, and I was honored :)
I WISH I could publicly say, but I MUST respect his privacy.

When I first met him, I was suprised how BIG a Man he really is.
On TV, around other Big Men, he looks like "just another guy".
But in PERSON, you realize he is one BIG Dude.
A VERY, Very nice person, just happy to get his place cleaned up.

As far as Wesly Snipes goes, hey, I Gotta pay TAX.
I was shocked when they let him go "work on a movie" oversaes, when he has a 3 year sentence on him

MUST be nice to be rich and famous, huh ?

Thanks, I have done quite a FEW of these big houses, even HAD pictures too, until my old computer crashed
And YES, that is a great Lift, every roof cleaner should own one :)
THIS house required it.

I wouldn't think chris is worried about a few dollars after those houses!!lol
Ya THINK ?
Actually, someone gave him a Low Ball Bid on THIS roof sometime ago.
He just Laughed!
Famous People ASK around, that is how they got MY Company.
It takes TIME to develop a Name for roof cleaning in your area, but once you do, word of mouth takes over.

I want to use this thread to say goodbye to my old roof cleaning truck, and honor an "old warrior".
This truck has served as a "test platform" for roof cleaners and manufacturers who cater to our needs.
She was the first roof cleaning truck ever to use a John Blue Pump.
If you look closely in one of the pictures, you can see the Bypass Line on top of her big single tank.
She tested Titan Hose Reels, as well as various non metallic hose reel swivels.
The Two different Non Metallic Hose Reel Swivels I am holding were firsts in the roof cleaning industry, and were tested on THIS truck.
I drove her to her last BIG Gig, and fired up her pumps.
Her replacement is due to come on line soon, and she will serve as a back up, instead of our main truck.

Nice to see the truck wasn't stuck in the mud.
Yeah, that was the first, and ONLY time that ever happened.
Here are the reminders
It all turned out good Kory.
The neighbor Lady who's property bordered our customer was suprised that we took care of re sodding the grass as fast as we did.
She hired us to clean her roof, and a month later, sent us to clean her Daughters Home in Cheval.
