i've been using apple cider with regular dawn (lot's of steep roofs) not rinsing. Can i add some simple cherry with the mix to mask the smell and/or an additional surfactant? if so how much? I've done some work for some real estate agents lately and a couple have mentioned the "bleachy smell". btw i had my first run in with the fumes with cider last week, i lost, bad. almost fell off of the ladder:eek: . thanks, scott

Tell them the "bleachy" smell is part of doing the job properly and effectively, and also is the approved product for roof cleaning and won't linger long. Or show them the ARMA sheet, good for credibility when using bleach on roofs. Also, in the age of trying to cut costs, I wouldn't spend money if I were only interested in masking the smell of the bleach. It may serve another purpose, but if that's all your adding it for, seems like spent money instead of invested money to me.

i couldnt have said it any better. ;)

I used SC for a little while (until the trailer was stolen, cause my last bag was in it) and it didnt mask the smell one bit. The only thing I'VE used that masks it at all is Apple dawn. I hate the smell of it, but its better than chlorine, and it sticks better than SC.

I am ZEROING in on conquering the SMELL of Chlorine, for GOOD.
I have been TESTING several compounds, and we just tried a 4 oz bottle in a 300 gallon tank of TILE ROOF STRENGTH chemical
My guys said it ALMOST did it, but we only had 4 ounces, 6 to 8 ozs would have done the trick.'
And, wouldn't you KNOW the fragrance ?
Why of course, it was "Green Apple" LOL
What else for Apple Sauce ?

I just need a little more, and want to try it a little while longer before I tell my FRIENDS about it.

Now, to answer the question of IF Simple Cherry can be added to Apple Cider ?
Yes, it can, but it will add expense.
It's ingredient is a detergent builder, so it will work with the cider, and shouldn't "hurt it"

grapefruit ajax with bleach! Its the bomb! My you tube video on the home page of my website shows how foamy and sticky it is!

NICE Video Jeffrey!
In all fairness, Dawn is sticky too, and some swear by Apple Blossom Dawn.
IF all goes well with my changing the smell of chlorine testing, soap will be chosen for its sticky, rather then smell.

The stuff I am testing smells just like green apples.

Last month we found some stuff that worked, but it smelled like a mens bathroom

NOT good

There are some fume and smell Reduction additives that are sold thru Sherwin Williams Paint Stores. Thu made for adding to paint in gallon and 5 gallon ratios They are fairly cheap per packet and 1 packet goes a long way 2 or 3 and bleach smells are almost masked in a 65 gallon tank. Chlorine smell is still there but very tolerable, especially with stronger mixtures.
These little packs come in a variety of scents. They work well too. Do some Testing! Try some and see for yourself.

I noticed if you add the SC last it does a better job at masking the smell. I also use a shot of Mr. Clean

Too much foam scares me. I rinse and it does not break up the foam so I just use very little and sometimes none

It only masks the smell if you mix it with water and add it last.
It still cleans very well no matter what order you mix it.
