All,

Yesterday we were contacted by a contractor who does the parking lot stripping. He wanted a bid on how much it would cost us to come out and wash all the existing dirt and flaked paint of the curb. We do fleets and havent dont much of anything else.

Im curious to how to bid this out since he doesnt want a price per sq. foot either. How time consuming is a project like this and is it more then just taking a wand and spraying it off? Sould we do the entire curb so its uniform and charge him for that or just the painted lines that come to the curbs? We thought just give him a flat minimum rate for coming out and then and hourly rate for every hour after the first hour.

Thanks everybody!

We charge $250 minimum fee to show up and then if its a night job at least $100 per hour. This is for commercial. Do a test on the paint, sometimes can turn out to a nightmare. You will not get paid for working over hours just because you don't have the right equipment and it takes longer than usual. Go to youtube and type "heat & turbo vs paint" to see what happened to me once :)...

I did a test spot on an area i was asked to PW and it was a PITA even with a turbo N.
I took more than i thought cuz it was asphault. but curbs will come clean quickly. I ran a 20" SC over the curb and the crete and it wasnt too bad. these are covered in mildew they look black. havent been cleaned in about 10yrs.
