Shurflo Air Pump video

We struggled with the electical issues and batteries of the Fatboys for several years and have since found what so far has been a flawless setup for roof cleaning.

I chose to go with a smaller electric air compressor for several reasons, one being mobility and the compact size.

The Shurflow pump is great, we have found that you can use much smaller tips than a fatboy with no performance issues or overheating/cycling and are able to control the chemical flow much easier which helps do reduce runoff and increases cost and cuts down on watering time.

We have used this on about residential 20 roofs and about 50 buildings that are in the video below.

Here is a little video of it in action.

We made a similar move too. We built a foamer for hood cleaning that is basically a beefed up Foam-on 5.
We don't do roofs, but I learned that when we do that occasional one, in the Florida summer, or chems dry too fast. Foaming seemed to give us a little extra dwell time. It used about 40% less chem, but took 30% longer to rinse...
If roofs were my bread and butter, I would definately use less surfactants.

Mike like the setup that you got from Bob there may I ask what size air compressor is that looks like 3-4 gallon tank 100-120 psi and I did not see generator so I asum you contact to house electric system.

Chris,
Thanks for pulling this thread up, I was trying to find the video of this on photobucket to put in the other thread about roof pumps and was having a hard time.

I was advised by several folks to get a gas powered, wheel barrow style compressor to power the pump but choose to go with a 120V - MAX PSI is 200 and pushed the pump with out any issue.

We just pull an extension cord from the trailer, plug in and go.

If you have not tried air pumps for roof cleaning...TRY ONE. Call Bob at PressureTek and ask for one of these. Amazing pump, great price, no issues.

Like I've said before, I've tried various electric pumps, gas powered roller pumps and nothing compares. These are super light weight too, I remember when it came I thought to myself, " No way will this thing work" but it does and it is flawless!
