select phone
here we go
with select phone (All the info in the phone book, All of them) I either use an SIC or a name like Restaurants and a city. It gives me all the listings that would be in the phone book. I save these in a folder. then I would take out the junk (hot dogs, pizza, etc) I then purchase the list (last set came with 2000 contacts). Now I send the list to Act. In act I set up a contact name for these before I send them (Restaurants Oakland MD, for example). Now I warm up the head set and dial for dollars. I complete what I exported from select phone (which is the name and address) with a call to each getting the main contact and verifying the address and contact numbers (tele, fax, email, etc). I then will write one letter using mail merge in act, and with the click of a mouse it makes a letter for each contact. putting in the contacts names and all their info on each letter the letter. I usually put their restaurant name in the letter or the contacts name in the first line. Remember you only type one letter and it makes the same letter but puts the info for each contact on all the others. Now print the letters and the envelopes and put some fancy company info with it . I can write a letter to say 30 new leads with envelopes licked and in the box in about 30 min.
One more thing about select phone, you only get the info that would be in the phone book. So you may not get full addresses. I looked up hotels and %60 had no street address.
