Seen the worst thing for us on TV!!!

Man, I seen the worst thing for our industry today on Home & Garden tv. They showed roof cleaning,....or should I say roof destroying. They showed a guy on a ladder blasting the crap out of the shingles with a pressure washer. The shingles were lifting up all over the place and it just looked like destruction. This is advertising we don't need!!!

Haven't a clue,.....no one here I wouldn't think or they would've boasted about being on t.v. Was a terrible thing though,..made me cringe!!!!!

I saw an episode of This Old House with Bob Vila. He was really impressed with a similar situation. The guy blasted the roof lifting shingles similar to what Jeff described. You could actually see the granules rolling down the roof in the run off water. I sent an email to This Old House asking that someone contact me or another professional. I referenced several boards with roof cleaning threads and ARMA. Never hear anything. Not so much as a thanks for the information. They just don't care if they are impacting the reputation of an entire industry.
The bottom line is that they hire the lowballer for the job. They guy that has no real idea what he is doing, but talks a good game to a clueless producer worried about going over budget.
