Sealing fittings

Thanks in advance

Ok, with connections in brass - pump head, unloader, nozzles on my spraybar - I've had trouble over the years with them leaking. Never had one spring a leak but when assembling it seems hit or miss. I've used tape, dope and tape & dope and there's a point, you know, where it wont get any tighter like the brass is just stretching. My question - can thread locker be used or is there something else. It seems like the surface cleaner spray bars are attatched with something other than teflon.

Lots of European and Canadian manufacturers use a type of Loc-Tite on fittings to seal them. Myself, all I use is teflon tape...just make sure you wrap it the right way or it'll peel back off when tightening the fitting. Many times in the pressure washing industry, you'll end up putting British straight threads in an American taper fitting or the other way around, so they sometimes need to be extra tight, too.

Tighten it 'till it breaks, then back it off 1/4 turn...j/k
