My foreman calls me today and says the muffler is sounding load and knows why.
We hadn't used or moved the truck since Friday. a couple of my trucks we park out side the warehouse. He looked under the truck to see where the muffler leak was, Some scum bag went under the truck and had cut 2/3rds of the way through the pipe to try to cut off the catalytic converter. Luckily something must of scared him off. The place is pretty well lit, not really in a bad area. Damn crackheads, bad area good area, thieves are everywhere


Then tonight I was at a networking event and I tell the story to a local pest control salesman, their shop is about a 1/4 mile away and they have probably 40 trucks he said a couple months ago 13 of their trucks had the catalytic converters cut off

Have my welder fixing it tomorrow and he's going to tack on a piece of angle to make it real hard to cut through
 
Sorry to hear Jeff, we are changing lock combos on Shop and locking everyone out. I feel your pain we have lost tools and who knows what else I have lost in the last year.

Its so bad I myself went out to find a wrench on the tool bench,,,NONE I was PISSED
 
About two years ago, I had a oldmobile bravada suv. parked on a very busy street with a for sale sign on it. In broad daylight the cat was cut off. It sounded like a damn nascar! The scrap yards give them $20 for the very small amount of platinum in them. Cost me over $300 to replace it.

This was happining alot around here even made the news. As of now anyone scrapping cats. You now have to give your info like a pawn shop to recieve the cash. That seemed to help alot. I havent heard of any problems lately....
 
The scrap yards should need alot more proof than a sawed off cat !!!!
