Scrubbing gutters

How many of you scrub gutters during a house wash, and how long does it take you? Do you up charge, or include it in the price? Ive done it a couple of times and the house wash take 45 minutes and then gutters took 1 1/2 hours. That was a one story 2500 sqft house, and we do alot of very large houses (5000 sqft+). To scrub the gutters on a 5000 sqft house would take me 3 hours.

Im just curious how everyone else does it.
 
If the gutters are very bad, I will let them know and ask if they want them scrubbed clean or just washed to let them decide as the scrubbing will cost more and take longer to do the job.
 
what chems are you using for the gutters?...seems like quite a while, Ive never taken that long
 
I'm not wanting to sound rough, but there is no way the gutters should consume that kind of time for cleaning:

(1) Use a good butyl based cleaner, actually Castrol Super Clean or Purple Power both from Wal-Mart will give excellent results. Castrol in particular is very strong so start with a light mix. Both are very cost effective and available.

(2) If it's too cold it can be next to impossible to get gutters clean.

(3) I know some guys like to put their product of choice in a bucket and dip and scrub. I personally like to spray it on and kinda just watch and you will see when it's time to scrub or sometimes yo can simply spray off, just depends on the severity of the gutter and the temperature.

But, back to the issue of charging extra, to me if you want to do a top notch job the gutters have to be done. But I don't make it an extra expense, I just price the job and the gutters are included. They're not that hard to do and it is a necessity to make a complete job in my opinion.

All included in price, unless they say another guy can do it cheaper then I tell them I can take the gutter cleaning out but it really dosen't make sense since were already on the roof.
 
Included in price. Takes way less time than you stated.
 
A lot of time i will include it in the price most home owners around here expect the gutters to be done with the wash most of them dont know you need to scrub them they just think the pressure washing does it.
 
I include them in the price of the house wash. With the right chemicals and a light brush I can do a house with 5000sq ft of gutters in about 45-min to 1-hour max. Do a search and you will discover chemicals that others use to cut your cleaning time down alot! Hugh
