Satellite Radios

I have been wanting to get one but maybe later on.

I am afraid I will want to be out in the truck too much instead of out there working. hahaha

It sounds addictive with no commercials and no talking.....just good music.

My new Sweeper has XM in it and they gave me 3 months free to try it out. I like a few of the channels on there and they have tons and if you like sports there are S loads of sport channels, so far I like it and gives me something besides local stuff to listen to at night while I out driving the sweeper.

We had it for free in the car for the first year. It was ok, but I didn't think it was worth spending $10-12 per month for it so we just let it expire. We just DL songs from ARES for free and cut them to CD's.

I'm a little different than most though.

I'll start buying music again when entertainers quit bragging about their huge "cribs", cars and bling.

And when they quit lecturing me on politics and global warming.

I haven't paid for any music but Christian music in over 3 years and haven't seen but one movie at the theater in 4 years. I just don't want to support it anymore.

I love the XM. Out of ALL those channels the handfull that I like are worth it. I have the handheld receiver that goes in my pocket while I work (look on Ebay if your buying). If you hear a song you like you can record it with one button, Its great when your traveling.

Tony, I know what you mean. This might be up your alley - My XM has been a huge blessing, the christian talk channel has a overnight lineup of pastors thats awesome. I learned more in the first month than I had in years. You can be 'in the word' a good part of the night.

My wife likes Joel Olstein but I can't listen to him for 2 minutes, his voice and demeanor drive me nuts.

I like Christian music, but I'm not much of one to listen to sermons.

However I do like that guy who's dead now, J, Vernon McGee. He just went straight through the Bible and covered everything one chapter at a time.

Maybe I'll give it a try again. I've been on about a three year stint where I just read the Bible and ignore most outside commentary on it.

You'd be surprised how many times something happens in your life and you think to yourself "that is exactly what happened to Joseph, or Moses, etc." Then you remember how they dealt with the situation and try to deal with it in a similar way.

Love my satelitte radio, that is all I listen to (NASCAR Radio) channel. The nice thing is that both Sirius and XM have now merged, and you can get the additional channels for only $10 to $20 a month. They even have satelitte radios that are like an MP3 player and you can listen to it while cleaning concrete, and so on.

Samsung helix or pioneer inno - they're the same radio - have 1 gig memory for mp3 and can get reception without the dock. Also one touch recording. I think they go for $100 or less on ebay with the home dock, car kit etc.

who uses them ?

I am behind times I am sure but my country ass never took the time to buy one so I got one for Christmas and I love it ! I want to ride everywhere in my truck now. hahaha:D

Got tired of cousin Cletus riding in the bed of the truck playing banjo?

Where have youy guys been hiding? In a cave....They give it away with every car you buy. It's cheap entertainment, especially if you do alot of driving..

Love the comedy channel's, makes the time pass by as you drive.
