I have marketed heavily in my area all summer and like to think that my name is getting known. now that the summer is over i will be starting snow removal. I should have thought out the name i chose because it says pressure washing and mentions nothing else.

I plan on continueing the ads in the local paper. those ads said western maine pressure washing blah blah blah.what would you do? add something to the name such as wmpw and plowing. or wmpw is now offering plowing during the winter months. any ideas on this?

I think I would market with the same name if possible as was said add another page to your website and call it Western Maine Plowing, same thing with business cards or whatever put Power washing on the one side and plowing on the other, kind of like dual marketing for you.

While there are several PW companies up North that do snow removal, I would separate the two so as not to confuse or dilute the message from the pressure washing side....But that's just me.

But if I go with the wmpwashing name incorperated somehow with plowing i can ride the coatails of previous advertising and continue to brand the name.

I think there are advantages to both... However since the two services are not exactly related I think you would be better off with an entire new identity for your snow plowing market. I would let all your customers know you added a new service and will be doing business as your new name for this service. And then you market to new customers with the new name. Something that is snow removal in the name.

Either way you should be fine but that is what I would do in your situation you get the best of both worlds.

Western Maine services. Seems general and yet generic.

It would depend on what you want to do with the snow plowing. I snow plow but all I do is my contracted 20 commercial lots before 8am. No ads or marketing. I just plow at night and we still wash during the day. Plowing is good money but I want to keep it small. I dont want to deal with employees running into things plowing
