same duct 1 year later not much improvement

I bid this place 1 year ago.....they went with another company.
Today I was called back in....they are unhappy have had lots of problems etc and they want a new bid from me. I was told that they regret not selecting me last year and the decision was made based on price alone.
Now they tell me they have learned their lesson.

The attached photos were taken of the same duct 1 year apart.

They say that the previous company "totally cleaned up" the whole exhaust on their first service out there.
Looks to me like somebody scraped the duct and let everything fall to the bottom

We had a rag and tag group running around here , they would clean the hood with the filters still intact.. I ran in to them one time.. They were cleaning a Penn' Express Fish House.. I was in my wifes car so I pulled up and started asking questions.. As I remember the oldest guy looked to be 22 years old or so.. He said that they use a special machine that they hook to the sink that will handle hot water from the tap and they wash the hood with it.. So i walked inside a little and there it was on the sink .. The almighty machine .. it said Cambell Hausfield (LOL) They were in ther cleaning the hood , the filters were in the hood and they were just cleaning and scrubbing with ,,, it looked like Brillo Pads...
I asked the guy why he didn't take the filters out of the hood ,, He said because it would make the fire system go off.. (BIG LOL)
I also asked him about the roof and the fan , he said they do not clean the electrical part of the hood..

( This is a true story.. It really happened.) He went back inside and I went to my wifes car and grabbed about ten business cards and put the on the seat of his truck..

I have never seen them or heard from them since that night..

Maybe they are in a new line of work....

What has helped me alot is the before and after phots I give to my customers , They see that there old hood cleaning company was not cleaning certian spots on the hood and duct and even the fan. Then they got me for life.. I think I am the only company in Mississippi that takes before and after photos..;

Looks like they changed menu items, or went from a less broiler work to more fryer work.
Yes, After 14 years of this I can tell by looking at it.
Doesnt look as though they did much of anything.
I can tell by the smell of the stuff what last weeks special was

At first I was thinking the same, goat. Then I summoned my Jeddi powers, it seems they actually did spray and wash, the only result was a different shade of poop brown.

I agree Josh, since the great keeper of the cakes gave me my new powers things are much brighter and I see things clearer. My powers too suggest that chemical was applied and rinsed off, leaving a different shade of grease.
