Rules for vendors posting in contractor forums

Mike Hughes

Former Board Administrator
There seems to be a misunderstanding of the rules regarding vendors posting in the contractor sections.

Let's restate this, make it real clear, so we don't have another uprising such as the one today.

Firstly, go to this thread: http://www.propowerwash.com/board/upload/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3540 and read every post in it from Me.

Now, let me restate.

Vendors may respond to questions in the contractor forums, but refrain from saying things like " I sell this" or "I can help you with that" or whatever. Answer the question generically, and professionally................then let your signature file say the rest.

A contractor can come into the thread and say whatever products he wants, vendors, phone numbers, web links, pictures, etc......................but the actual vendor cannot. But, this needs to be a legitimate reference from the contractor.........if I find out someone is just paying someone else off to talk nice about their stuff, I'll ban you both from the board before you can make another keystroke. I don't like to be taken advantage of................these simple rules are easier to follow then you think.

Vendors are allowed to display your company name, logo, and contact information in your signature file..............but you can't simply tell people to give you a call, etc. in a post unless it is in the vendor/distributor sections.

As I stated before, there are some people on this board that are very good at this....................others are not. Let's all get on the same page here, OK?

Email me any questions. mike@evclear.com
