Here is a pic of some of the roof top grease containment units we have been building lately. Simple and profitable.


Fan obviously needs to be cleaned but wanted to get picture of unit first. Fan is now clean but dont have pic.

Looks good.

I have 10,000 places that could use it.....but they have to want their system cleaned in the first place (that is the hard part sometimes).

Michael, looks good but do you use any flashing against the duct? It looks like the grease could run down the duct and still get to the roof.
 
Bryan, I have multiple layers that fit snugly against the duct. Havent had a problem yet. Did consider flashing but has been okay so far. Have some ideas on how to keep the absorbant layers snuged up tight. This is a work in progress. We keep refining system making it simpler and cost effective to the customer.

What would you charge to install one like in the photo?

Can it adapt to the much larger upblasts?
 
Chris, I sell the small unit for 200.00 installed. Plus changing the filters out yearly for 100.00. We rotate them for free each time we service the account. They have a 12" parimeter. On bigger fans I go up to 24". I can go as large as 10'x10'. This seems to be the right market price for my area. I sell quite a few.

Now lets talk about Intellectual Properties. Ive just improved on something already on the market. Who is going to build a better mouse trap? And its not built with magic rocks. LOL
 
Michael, Good job on the containment system. To keep the absorbent layers snug I bet you could use a PVC type of webing or use some trotline twine criss-crossed through some eyelets. Should last atleast a year in the heaviest grease and I bet its cheap enough to keep it affordable.

Bet you never would have guessed that your fishing skills would turn you in to a multi-millionare over night. :)

David, Speakin of fishin. Ive been bay fishin 3 times in the last 2 weeks. This last weekend it blew like heck. 15-20 out of the north. But I did put a few fish in the box.

My crew said " they would LET me go only if I cooked them fish when I got back. " So when I got back I call everyone in for a "Safety Meeting" and said bring your appetites.
 
I bought a $160.00 bait caster and pole two years ago and it has only been in the water twice.

I wore this sucker out bringin him in, he got off the hook right at the bank. He was tired and he didn't have strength to swim away. I jumped in the water and scooped him on the bank. Took a picture then let it go.

David, dont have any fish pics but I do have a nice sunset. Wind had letup some only 10-15. You can see the ripple on the water. Sun was going down on one side moon coming up on the other. Fish pics are on the other puter.

It looks good Michael.I agree with David some type of pvc mesh cut out to hold the filter material down would work,and would be inexpensive.
