Roof cleaning Houston, TX 13,000sqft

We did this roof yesterday and the house wash today. It was the biggest roof we've ever done at 13,000 sqft, 14,000 w/ the garage.

The only problem I have with it is right around the windows in the front you can see where the flashing had rusted and then run down and stained the roof. It did it in a couple of places on the stucco also. How do you get this off with out acids?

They were pleased the way it is, but I would like to go the extra mile and go back and fix that issue if I can.

I think that is slate..

Yea it was slate. But its like a synthetic fake slate and not as strong so I dont want to use any kind of acids or harsh chemicals.

Thanks guys! I wish I could have been there for it, but it sure was nice that I just woke up and had the finished pictures in my email!!

Looks great Scott.

Your crew is doing good.

Shingle Roof Washing and Tile Roof Washing in Corpus Christi Texas

Thanks Chris! The guy I have for the cleaning is awesome. He picked up roof cleaning faster than ive ever seen anyone pick up any new skill. after the first roof he was comfortable and after 2-3 roofs he was faster than me  . Not that IM all that fast, but ive been doing it over a year! Ive cleaned tons of roofs and he passed me quickly. The only problem is that he is constantly looking for a new job because we dont have enough work to keep him busy enough.

Hey Scott,
I have used oxylic on ashphalt shingles before but not the fake slate stuff. I think you could use it though....if those shingles are fake, what are they made of plastic? petroleum product? Either way the acid should not harm them. You will have to test, just remember oxcylic takes a good while to work.

Check out Safe Restore. I have never used it on a roof but I believe I have seen marketing materials with roof pictures used with it. Call the manufactuer and see. If that won't work they probably have something else that will.

Well, you actually got me on this one Scott. I've never dealt with "synthetic fake slate " before and I would hate to recommend something not having ever experiencing it myself. Especially on a nice house like that. My personal off the record opinion, if it were my job and I wanted to try, would be to mix up some Iron Out in a pump up and give it a light spray. the Iron Out is made for that kind of Rust and is not as harsh as other acids. Should work real well on the stucco as well. I know this seems to be my favorite answer for most all kinds of Rust Stain issues but that's only because I've had lots and lots of great luck using it without ever causing damage to any surfaces. The other alternative. You said the customer is already happy? Leave well enough alone! (You sound like me though so I'm sure you may not do that.) I'm also thinking. How long ya got that lift bucket for? Good Luck! Hope this helps... Let us know what happens! :)

I would also say maybe some oxalic.. One time i was just cleaning the house but they had this small little rust stain on the lower part of the roof so i went up there with a brush and clr and it worked but like every one else i havent really worked on Fake synthetic slate. Good luck.

Chris, she took the lift back yesterday, but if we just need to hit those spots a ladder would work just fine. I think she just wants to leave it though.

Hugh, nobody important. He's just high up in a financial company. Not high enough for anyone to know his name.

Nice Roof Cleaning in Houston Scott;) I would post this beautiful roof cleaning job you did in Houston, Texas on as many roof cleaning forums as possible :)

We put a lot of stock in image. Our uniforms, truck, business cards, website, pictures, etc and have to look first class. I have been thinking of buying a ariel picture system (like $1k) so we can get awesome ariel shots on hotels and apartments. And pictures that are not taken from the same angle look terrible. Also when we make videos, or commercials we have them transition from dirty to clean, so they have to be the same angle and from the same exact spot if possible.

Thanks!!
