Roads & Schools

It looks like President Elect will be doing a stimulas package. It looks like the first wave of that package will be a HUGE roads & schools program to rebuild & modernize

I'm wondering if this will benefit the PW industry or related industries and what we should be thinking about on how to capitalize on the work that will be out there

Another thing I am wondering about is how the heck you get this Gov work. I am totally ignorant on how to get into this work

I used to be a sandblaster, spray painter & rigger on many many bridge & overpass projects and those companies did very well

Now theres schools that will be modernizing, anything from clean up to new light bulds and remodel & building

There is going to be money spent I would like to get some of that. I am sure there are large businesses already working on plans for this

Plus the jobs created might put more money into the system and help people companies spend and maybe spend on PWing

Whats anyone think or what will be in it for the PW industry

Jeff - Good idea! We should always be looking for ways to capitalize on the current situation and factors like this.

I've only bid a few gov. jobs and they were not great experiences. They outright told me that they only accept the lowest bid, no matter what. The state jobs here require you to sign up for commerce point, which is an internet based bidding system. The winning bid each year is broadcasted for all bidders to see so they can try to beat it the following year.

I'm sure there is good money in gov. work, you just have to know more about the process. I'm sure there are some guys on here that give us some good info on the subject.
