Remembering 9/11/01 - Where were you?

Nichole

Ms Awesome
I was working at a local dealership and I was walking by the tv in the show room when the news broke out. Was still in shock as the announcer was realizing there was a second plane now heading towards the towers! I have never felt so helpless in my life.

This is the reason why I still have friends that are overseas serving my country. I am very proud of all of them!

GOD BLESS THEM AND KEEP THEM SAFE!

I was working at the refinery loading chemicals into train railcars when they told me to shut down the loading and go and watch the tv, we are under attack!

Weird day and sent chills down my back!

We went and saw the footage that was on the air and we went and disconnected the railcars and they sent us home early that day while they came up with plans on what to do in the refinery (it would be a large target along with the Naval base here and the port).

We got to come back to work the next day but did not do as much work, just looking out all over the place and doing a lot of inspections on things.

I was getting ready for work and passed by the TV - actually thought it was some sort of bad movie. Reality struck way in my gut when I realized (1) it was real and (2) that my sister & brother-in-law, who were expecting twins at the time - both worked in the towers. We were on edge for hours until someone got through to everyone down here to let us know they were some of the fortunate that were okay. My heart still goes out to every life lost or damaged by that day.

I was at home watching Good morning America live as it unfolded. We sat in disbelive as our great country was under attack. No doubt we should never forget !! I lost a very good friend in the towers as many others have also.

And we continue to lose more lives of our armed forces overseas who continue to keep us safe here and abroad. God Bless America 9/11/01

Frank Bonomo, you will always be remembered.

Was working at Sonic. I thought it was a really cool scene from a movie. I remember my brother telling me "the planes really did go through the building" then I realized he was watching CNN. That is the day that America stopped. I remember how naked the skies were for a few days. I live close enough to Hartsfield Airport (the Atlanta airport) to see a lot of planes in the sky every day.

All one bad experience.

Shelly was pregnant. We were getting dry clean deliveries ready while an old friend from high school (we were trying to help him) was, as usual, laying on the couch after a night of dope. He didn't even bother to come get us. (too much dope). He waited till we came back into the house and told us. We thought he was just wasted till we stopped and saw it on the TV.

I knew history was going to change at that point.

My first thought was "Thank God Al Gore isn't president."

I've always thought the one in PA was shot down. Why hasn't anyone ever just come out and admitted that I wonder?

(By the way, the old friend is in his late 40's, lives with his mom. Is still on dope and last year he murdered a passenger by running off the road while wasted. I wouldn't change anything though. He lived with us over a year and we just did the best we could to help him. There's just no helping some people.)

I have always said and still beleive that the plane over PA was taken out by the military.

I was working a big forest fire out side of Tahoe National Forest.
We were very isolated and didnt know what had happened till two days later when we asked for air support and air command said all planes were grounded and then they told what happened.
