anybody use the ready seal and really see that it lats a few years?

Ready Seal rocks. I have been using it since October of 1998 and my customers and I love it.

Keep in mind, there are some situations..........for example, a cedar deck with full sun exposure, where no product is going to last a few years. I find that Ready Seal holds about the same as other products, but ONLY IF the deck is prepared properly, is dry (12% moisture or below) when RS is applied, and that you apply enough sealer. If you do it right, you will be very happy with Ready Seal.

Where Ready Seal really shines is its ease of use. They call it "goof proof" because as long as you do your prep work properly, you just can't go wrong. No backbrushing is necessary. Drips and the like blend in and don't show up in your finished product. Not having to backbrush and do a perfectly neat job is a real time saver. I'm not saying I seal decks sloppily, but its nice to know you don't have to be a perfectionist..........as long as you get everything covered enough and keep it off of the house, plants, and any concrete, etc.

The advantages don't stop there. It can actually be rained on within a half hour of application. The only exception that I have found to that is on cedar decks if you apply too much sealer and leave the deck too wet........a rain shower will mess it up. If there is a chance of rain that night, I make sure to go easy and not leave the deck too wet with sealer.

Also, recoats are a breeze. The next time you visit the deck, you won't have to strip it. Just do a mild cleaning and reapply more Ready Seal. It penetrates into the wood...........so, the next visit, it simply soaks in some more. You should only have to strip the deck every third time or so. This is a great selling point, since stripping is less then ideal for decks and their surroundings.

It also totally shows the grain of the wood. On most decks this is an advantage. On some really old decks, you may consider another product that might hide some of the imperfections............but, for the most part, Ready Seal is a very versatile product and I have been very happy with it.

Sorry to ramble on.............
