When I bid this job I told the guy it was one of the worst I have ever seen. 12' lateral with one access at the end of the lateral. The duct runs flush with the ceiling and the access door is about a 12"x12" that means you will have to lay down the whole time you are cleaning it. He wanted to give me $300, he was sure it would only take a guy a couple of hours to do the whole system. My response to him was "No soup for you!"

I got a snow shovel I could send you. LOL

I could rag and tag it, with someone elses tag, say one of the big guys?

That looks nasty, not the kind of filth that I want to deal with

I've seen a few worse than that. Mntgoat I have actually used a shovel to clean a few ducts, or get them manageable so I could use a more conventional method

Looks like typical high-volume hamburger buildup to me. Usually they look a lot harder to do than they actually are. We did one last week that looked that horrid - took about 3 1/2 hours - however I would want about $450 for the job.

soup nazi !!!!!!!!!!!!

We did a Pizza restaurant last night that had a 8 filter galvanized hood with 1 fan straight up. The duct had a 2 foot 45 degree cut to get to the vertical. When we pulled the fan the vertical was greasy ( normal 1/8 build up that scraped right off.)
The 45 cut had never been done build up was 3 inches thick in some points and looked just like that pic. I showed it to the owner who said " I guess that is why the other company won't call me back" about a cleaning.
It was my bad for not catching it on the bid but we negotaited a good comprimise right there and he's now happy.
Oh by the way the foam sat for 20 mins on the galvanized. It was a mix of Hood monster and the morgan gallacher foaming agent and it did not blacken the galvanized, it actually made it brighter ( looked like a new highway guardrail)

Yes it is I got it from a cleaner who was getting out of the buisness and he sold off his chems. i have to say it works well but I don't know what it goes for retail
