I've got to share how proud I was of Fayth this weekend at the Project Appleseed bootcamp.
Allow me to set up this video:
Shelly is firing the loudest AR15 on the planet. (It's hard to tell from the video, but even standing 20 ft away you can feel it in your chest at every shot) It has almost no recoil because of the muzzle brake, but that muzzle brake makes the report REALLY loud AND blows a crapload of desert dust up on every shot.
Fayth is about to shoot the 22 next to Shelly. She has been instructed never to leave the line without securing the weapon. (unload, on safety, chamber flag inserted)
She had never heard the AR15 fired. After the first shot she is scared to death - especially with all the dust coming up in her face from it. I had no idea how scared she was at the moment. I knew it was loud, but I didn't realize that seconds later she would be sitting in the bleachers crying her eyes out.
BUT, even with that kind of fear, she nervously took the time to unload and fully secure the weapon. And she was having a hard time doing it too with all the noise and dust.
I'm so proud of her. Maybe there's hope for our country's future after all.
