Anyone manufacturer replacement aftermarket coils?

Has anyone seen or hear of coils in copper, bronze or stainless steel?

I am considering modifying a Landa HS 3000{Hot Water Generator] to run raw sea water at very low tempeture{max 150] and pressure{max 100psi, Yes one hundred psi]

Your comment and or suggestions?

Thank You

Joseph

I have 2 different sources for aftermarket coils...I'll call Monday and see about stainless.

I have never heard of teh coils actually being anything other than Steel & iron.

brass would melt and Bronze would too. stainless, I'm not sure there would be a reason for stainless.

Maybe we are confusing the Wrap????????????

No, not the wrap.

The melting point of bronze is 950° C.{1,742° F], 1,084° C.{1,980° F]for pure copper, Iron melting point 1,537° C.{2,798° F]

I do not think an oil fired burner with a 1.6 tip will produce 1,000° C on the coil that has a flow sensor with water flow of 5 to 7 gpm with an average water tempture of 4.4°C{40° F] and a high limit switch of 60° C{140° F].

it heats water instanly, I would imagine a copper coil would be very expensive.

the schedule of the pipe make a considerable difference in the formula.

I know that my coils pancakes glow red, often red several minutes after turning of. I wish i could remember from science class using a burner to heat pyrex and other materials at what temperature we heated these metals.

I think a bronze coil would cost a fortune.

For what it is worth......

.......I have located a Company that Manfactures coils and the entire machine in Stainless Steel as an option. Company is Silver Eagle Pressure Systems*.

There URL is :
http://www.silvereaglemanufacturing.com

They offer an Oil Burner Heating Unit - 5GPM, 3500psi unit, 550,000 BTU max in all stainless for $2,800.00 new. Not much more than what the Land HS-3000 cost. They also have one in Propane for $2,700.00

* I do not have any financial interest in this Company, Just located it surfing.

If you want to run DI water or ultra pure water through it, it will last longer. It probably slows buildup inside the coil, and it also works with junk water, although your pump probably would not like it. Additionally, if you want to upstream acids it will be less likely to react with them.
Other than that, it is a larger tax deduction.

What is the purpose for a stainless stell coil? Anyone??????????

One would be, Stainless Steel coil reduces mill scale and eliminates need to purge system before use, such as for Carpet Cleaning.
