I do a college that has at least 50 hoods. All located at various levels of the building with the duct running right over the main seating area. Some places are on the upper floor. Like 10th floor catering etc. Up the elevator , winding stairs to the roof over walls on the roof. How do you all manage to use a hot water machine mounted on the back of a truck or platform for a job like this?
Problems I see are 1) Hoses running up stairways thru cafeterias. There isn't enough hose in the industry to get to some of these places.
2) Heating water means a burner of some type which means fumes along with noise.
3) Machine must be running and being used or shut off. Running machines without actually firing wand leads to excessive heating of pump and potential damage.
4) Extra personnel running back and forth turning the machine on and off
5) Open truck if left unattended could be robbed or damaged.
6) Multiple systems need multiple machines
7) Hoses can leak, and burst and can put marks on the floors or carpets.

So did I miss anything and what do you guys running those big machines do? I run several cold water electric machines using the hot water from the customer. The can be brought right into the cafeteria and emit no fumes and little noise.

That is the way to go. We do have one hot water electric/LP machine that we use indoors if a job requires very hot water (we have specific jobs we use it on). It's on wheels with its own hose reel so its easy to get around inside with. Besides the roar from the burner, it isn't any louder than any other equivalent cold water pressure washer.
