PWPLLC First Video

I used Windows movie maker for this. This is my first attempt. Once I watch it a few times I will hate it and redo it...

Give me some feedback please:cool:

Hey Nicole

I like the before and after of the dock doors!

I think the video is a good showcase of your work... QUALITY!!! :D

Is the video intended for marketing? It would really 'beef it up' if you had some motion picture, video, or more moving text and transitions.

... but hey, I don't have a marketing movie, presentation or slideshow yet!! so take my comments for what they are worth!! :p

... oh yeah, the music - ROCK AND ROLL BABY !!!!

1) The music has profanity in it so I think that's a major negative.
2) The music talks about drinking and clubs so that's a major negative.
3) The before and after pictures should try to be taken from the same angles.
4) When you have an after picture that doesn't effectively show how clean something became (ie: wet concrete) don't include it in the slide or go wait until the concrete is dry to take the picture.
5) Blue text on a black background doesn't grab my attention.

I didnt notice it, good point. It might offend someone, the world is getting pretty loose with marketing.

I see your points and its definitly something to look at.

Adam - The music is not for release to customers. I know that it is a bad choice of song, I just happen to actually like it so I threw it on there for the PWI board. I will definetely change before I release publicaly to potential customers or for website use.

Thanks for the note on the blue and black, I may change to lime green or a lighter shade of blue.

I try to get the same angles on the before and after, but dont always get it right.

As far as wet after photos, I dont typically want to wait around for hours for the area to dry. I think you can still tell that the area is cleaner.

Here's what I do to help ensure that I'm taking pictures from the same angle. Problem is, I often take TOO many pictures and forget my marks, but anyway.

I pick a spot to stand either in line with a tree and X paces over, or whatever works for you. Just mark you spot. Then, when I go to take the picture I try to line up the walls or the windows or cracks in the concrete (SOMETHING) with the picture frame shown in the preview (I don't know the technical term, I apologize). Then, when I'm done, I go back to the spot I stood in before, line the camera up on those walls or windows or cracks in the concrete and voila, a picture that's only a few degrees off. Normally a simple scaling in Photoshop makes the subtle angle difference even less noticeable.

As for waiting around for hours, I agree don't do it. Unless the water is pooling or the sun is not shining brightly then I don't have to wait at all . . . I just finish up the job and when I'm done I can snap the pictures. If it's a really impressive job and it's still wet then perhaps go by in a few days (next time you're in the area) and take pictures of the dry concrete. Wet concrete always looks darker and therefore not as clean.

All I see come up is 'please try again'.
