Message from PWNA President Christopher Detter

The PWNA celebrated its 10th year anniversary in January by holding its Annual Meeting & Exposition in beautiful Miami, Florida. To further enhance this anniversary celebration, the convention was followed by a 3-day pleasure cruise to the Bahamas on Royal Caribbean's cruise ship Majesty Of The Seas.

The excitement, tone and enthusiasm of this year's annual meeting matched that of the PWNA's promise and commitment to introduce new and exciting benefits to its members. As a national organization representing the power wash contractor, the PWNA remains proud to represent one of the fastest growing and environmentally conscious professions. The PWNA today is continuing its dedication in keeping up with today's issues with its renowned continuing educational seminars in conjunction with its national certification programs. These programs coupled with strong mentoring and technical support programs, national vendor discount programs plus a new revamping of Internet accessibility, our organization is devoted to listening; responding, and helping our members businesses grow.

The PWNA and its members wish to express a sincere Thank You to Michael Hinderliter for devoting the last two years as PWNA's President and in guiding and growing our organization. Mr. Hinderliter will remain as immediate passed president offering his guidance for our continued growth.

New Business (The board at work)

Chris Detter asked if we should consider lowering membership dues. The decision of the Board was to leave the dues for members where they are and work hard to increase the value and benefits to member companies. Chris also suggested we offer a discount to those members who reach their three-year anniversary. A suggestion was also made to offer a promotion that whoever attends the Annual Meeting receives a discount on their next year's membership dues. The board agrees that we need more national exposure, i.e. press releases across the country in various newspapers promoting our certification programs.

The Board approved the location of the Annual Meeting in 2003. The meeting will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada in February or early March. Information will be sent as soon as the final dates have been approved. In an effort to get members involved in the organization, committee chairpersons will organize groups of volunteers and have their own conference calls to discuss issues. These issues will then be brought to the Board for discussion. Any and all current PWNA members are welcome to assist. If you're interested, please contact PWNA Headquarters and you will be directed to the proper committee chairperson.
