Pwna Canceled

Our nation
has recently undergone a tragedy that has attacked many of our
basic freedoms. The highjacking of passenger airlines to bomb
the World Trade Center and the Pentagon has stifled air transportation
in our country. The effects will be long term on how the flying
public will travel. Even though airports are being reopened around
the country and air service is resuming, PWNA feels inclined to
allow those that have been affected by the attacks to recover
and allow those involved in relief efforts to participate to their
fullest extent possible. It is this reason that PWNA has decided
to cancel the Fall Technical Seminar scheduled for October 11-14,
2001, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The seminar will be held next
year at approximately the same time in Pittsburgh.

I would like to ask that you keep the victims and their families
in your prayers as well as our nation and
it<!--SELECTION--><!--/SELECTION-->s
leaders. I personally have been deeply touched by the unity that
our country has displayed since the attacks, and I know that it
makes us all proud to be Americans.

God Bless!

Hey Jon,
You come across like your real angry about the PWNA. And I know you have your reasons and nobody can argue with that. They treated you unfairly according to your posts and we all know thats how opinions are formed. But of course there is other positive opinions being expressed about the PWNA.

I for one was looking forward to going to the convention and I am disappointed that they cancelled it. But I respect there decision even though I don't agree with it.

As I said in the other bb I had a paid trip to Jamaica for my wife and I(This one is without our kids) so we can get away for a short while. I bought this for my wife's bthday and we were suppose to leave on Oct. 3rd. My wife will not fly anytime soon now because of what happen. So our trip is cancelled. Me personally I would still go but I do respect my wifes decision.(Thank God I bought insurance on this trip)

All sports was cancelled for awhile too. So because the PWNA decided to cancel I can't argue with them. People are afraid to fly or travel at this time. Who can blame them.

Living so close to the tagedy and knowing people who perrished I can't blame anyone if they are afraid at this time. I for one believe that we must move on but I can tell you that even at my daughters bus stop(She is only 6) there are 2 kids there that don't have a father anymore. Very sad. I was at a memorial today for another guy who left behind an 18 month old child.

I could go on but you get my point. I would have the convention go on but to be mad at them for not doing so I just can't see it.

Now if there not going to give one's money back like your suggesting then thats another story.

Jon,
E-mail me that letter if you could. I would be interested in having a better understanding from your point of view why they did wrong by you. Who knows maybe in the future there will be other organizations that challenge them. In my book the more the merrier. Maybe one organization can outshine all of them. But for now the PWNA has no real competition and that my friend gives them alot of power.

I'm not saying that having all that power is neccesarily a bad thing but it gives them free rein to treat people anyway they like and apparently they treated you unfairly.

So sure if you don't mind, e-mail me the letter. If it is as half as interesting as your posts it should make for a good read

Jon,

I'd like to read the letter also. I am not currently a member, (too expensive), but am still on the fence whether I will join in the future.

The letter shall not be made public nor shall I continue to sound off about the PWNA as I have.

To many misunderstand how I am here.

I am a very direct person, I don't care for sugar coated talk, say it as it is, be blunt and don't beat around the bush is my style, hard for some to accept and many misunderstand that and think I am bashing or putting things or people down.

Part of it might come from being mostly deaf and talking louder then others, part just might be my attitude about not being a follower nor likeing authority.

There is a saying that you will first start to hate me before you start to like me so before you bash me try to understand what I am really saying.

Call or Email me if you want something made more clear to you.

I believe in live and let live. We all have our differences but I try to get along with everyone.
