How can this be unless I'm missing something. Here's a hot water powerwasher for sale on ebay that the seller claims it is rated at 5000psi. How can that be with only a 5.5hp engine. Talk about false claims.

Description

You are bidding on one of the most powerful pressure washers on the market today which is an ALL AMERICAN PRESSURE WASHER. This Bad Boy has 5000 psi and has a HONDA GX 160 5.5 hp engine. It also has a heavy duty Steamer and CAT PUMP, "the pump with 9 lives" It has an electric start, has a built on roll for hose with 50 foot hose already included. This is a great machine, used only a couple of months time at a detail shop. Works fantastic, water heats up real quick to get you the hot water in no time. It Runs on GAS and/or Diesel. You get cold water with gas and hot water with diesel. The thermostat goes up to 302 F. and 150 C. It has been sitting in my garage for almost 8 months with no use other then the 2 months we used it at a detail shop and it really does the job, especially when you run the hot water. This machine is the best under pressure!! Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs as this machine is very heavy and we would need to know how to ship this item, possibly by freight. We will accept MONEY ORDER, CASH, or CASHIERS CHECK. NO PAYPAL or other credit card forms of payment. Payment must be received within 5 days after auction close. We prefer payment to be overnighted to process this transaction as quick as possible. The machine in the pictures is the actual machine you are bidding on and will be receiving. This machine is the best under pressure!! Good Luck and Happy Bidding!!

3 gpm, 2000psi....3+2=5, carry the zeros, 5,000 !!

I saw this and wondered the same thing, until I saw the pressure gauge. I am with Oneness on this one and say, the guy is not very familiar with the equipment.

I had a call from a guy the seller I believe, turns out he did not know what he had?

:p I told him it was most likely around 3 GPM @ 2000 PSi based on the 5.5 HP Honda engine driving the pump.

He did not mention it being on E-Bay just asked where he might be able to sell it in LA area.

It is somewhat common for people to think that just because a p/w has a 5000 PSI gauge on it that it will do 5000 PSI,
I get calls from people needing parts for their 3000 PSI 115 volt $199 washer all the time, many of them will argue that the machine really does put out that pressure.

LOL
:p

I saw that pw'er on ebay also and thought it was odd to have that small of an engine on that machine.I bought a mint all american premier series hardly used 5gpm3500 psi, 20 hp vanguard with two reelcraft hose reels,100ft pressure hose,100ft 0f 1'' hose ,'three telescopic wands ,two dual lance wands, four guns .300 gal molded tank(to fit in the back of a p/u),and a big box of new replacement parts .I came upon it when it was only 45 minutes into a 9-day auction on a Sunday night. The starting bid was $1000 and you could "buy it now"for $1200.I went to the all american web site and the machine listed for over $9000,with the 18 hp engine(but they were having a sale for I think $5400 cash)I went back to ebay and bought it,and I think only 11 people had looked at it so far.The guy did a little housewashing with it and and went back into corporate security, and his wife listed it on ebay.I thought he might be a little annoyed that it went so cheap, but he was really nice about it and was glad it was going to someone who would use it.I also just bought a landa platinum series 5gpm 3500psi ,16hp vanguard hot skid unit, with high hours, but recently replaced engine, and rebuilt general pump, and a good coil for $500 (not on ebay)from a trucking company that outsourced their truck washing. That makes 4 hot skid units ,two trucks ,loads of equipment and I STILL HAVE NOT WASHED ANYTHING YET!!But this is definately the year I start my pressure washing business. I really cannot express how much I appreciate this bb .how much I learn from it everyday.I'm sorry about the rambling post, but that's just me.I hope I dont annoy any of the newbie's learning too much crowd from this bb,I am never a newbie for long in any business I have been in and never work cheap,I always try to honestly sell quality and pride in a job over the lowest price, and walk away if someone tries to squeeze me ,I have other things to fall back on and will never work out of desperation.
BEST WISHES!!
JIM.M
