Pump Warranty Question

We've got a Landa pump that is still under warranty. It is chattering and only putting out about 1200 psi. We run off tanks but we ran a line straight in to check for leaks and it didn't help.

I have a couple of questions:

1) If we pop it open to check for debris in the valves will that affect the warranty?
2) Is debris in the valves covered under the warranty or is that something that we need to check for first?
3) Is there anything else we should check that might not be covered before we take it in.

Thanks.

Tony, nothing in the front end is covered by the warranty (clogged valves, torn packing, cracked pistons, etc.). The warranty usually only covers the back end, and only if no water has ever gotten into it.

Ok, that's good to know. That's all the stuff that usually goes wrong with them so all their talk about 5 yr and 7 yr warranty really doesn't mean a lot does it?

Next question Russ, What about superswivels? I just had one open right up on the seam underneath. If it isn't covered by some kind of warranty can you send me another one Russ?

Thanks,

Do you work near desert pine trees? Only seen debris in a valve once in 15 years, the little o-rings around the valves are always my first check. The super swivels look unbreakable, maybe you need the new ultra swivel for the massive power of your multi-chonda setup?

I'm in the same boat as you are Tony. I have a TS2021 that has dropped to 3000 PSI. I'm just trying to baby it through the weekend though. I'll tear it down Sunday morning and get a rebuild kit Monday morning for it but I have another problem though.....

I think when I put the rails on it when I converted it over to belt drive I might have tightened the bolts to tight and cracked the main housing of the pump. If that's the case then I'll just pick up a brand new pump and forget about it. Luckily a local supplier here has them in stock for a great deal.

Water filters will usually keep your valves clear. Never had trash in a valve when using a filter before the pump
