Pump Drip

Last week I noticed a tiny drip from my tsf 2221, ordered packings and put them in today. Tonight - same drip! I'm at a loss now. The drip did get better as the night went on. I don't really know where to go next, I'm hoping the packing is 'seating' itself and it will just go away. What could I check? Anyone had something similar? Thanks

Russ, they all have cracks, just like every piston on every pump I've ever had, and they all ran for years. Sounds like you nailed it. Now to decide how much its worth spending, all the brands really bend you over on the parts, and that is a relatively inexpensive pump.

OK, how is it that hightec titanium impregnated ceramic matrix pistons are 1/2 the price of a few washers that come in the packing kit? Anyways thats good news, I figured since the packings are close to 20% of what I last saw the pump for, the pistons would be almost as expensive as the pump. Russ I have cat pump that has two bad plungers one has hole it and another big scrach in it. the problem I am having is water volume lose and hose viberating bad would that be from bad plungers.

Absolutely, along with the seals that the damaged plungers have probably shredded. What model Cat?
