Pump Drip

Last week I noticed a tiny drip from my tsf 2221, ordered packings and put them in today. Tonight - same drip! I'm at a loss now. The drip did get better as the night went on. I don't really know where to go next, I'm hoping the packing is 'seating' itself and it will just go away. What could I check? Anyone had something similar? Thanks

Didn't have a cracked plunger did you?

Russ, they all have cracks, just like every piston on every pump I've ever had, and they all ran for years. Sounds like you nailed it. Now to decide how much its worth spending, all the brands really bend you over on the parts, and that is a relatively inexpensive pump.

OK, how is it that hightec titanium impregnated ceramic matrix pistons are 1/2 the price of a few washers that come in the packing kit? Anyways thats good news, I figured since the packings are close to 20% of what I last saw the pump for, the pistons would be almost as expensive as the pump. Thanks Russ, I'm going to check out your website.
