Professional tax help vs. self help

Well it's getting close to that time to start thinking about the taxation we endure to receive the representation we all enjoy from our elected officials..(yeah right).

I was just wondering how many of you full-timers pay quarterly taxes vs. paying the end of year nightmare? I'll have to do the big hit this coming tax season, but I'm pretty sure it'll work out ok because of all the initial business start up expenses I incurred this year. I try to do all my own accounting, but with doing quarterly tax payments this coming tax year (which would be alot easier in my case), would it be recommended to get an accountant to deal with it, or is it simple enough to keep up with as a business owner? Is it a nightmare or pretty simple with a good general knowledge of tax issues?
 
Do your self a HUGE favor and get a GOOD accountant. After you get incorparated of course, if your not.
We are an S corp and pay quarterly. Taxes arent bad if you have a good accountant and take all the distributions you can.
Gotta love taxes-
P.S- I switched accountants this year and he saves me over 2gs a month in p roll taxes.
 
I have an amazing accountant that I use for our 1040 etc. She also consults with my wife when she does our monthly tax payment. For us it works because my wife is excellent at that sort of thing. Unless you have someone that is willing to devote thenselves to your tax situation, I would recommend an accountant.
 
Hire a professional. A good accountant will save you more than they charge.:)
 
Get yourself an accountant. They will save you lots of money and headache! Some good reasons are:

1. The amount they will save you will pay for their services and put more money in your pocket.

2. A professionally prepared return is less likely to be audited.

3. They do your taxes so you can get more work!

I have a great one that I only see at the end of the year to do my taxes. I can call him for free advice all year long. This is cheaper than paying someone year round. You can do your quarterly estimated taxes yourself.
