Hello

I am having a problem with my hot water unit. I am having a problem when run the burner I am having small black pieces clogging the tip. It is a brand new hose. I know some hoses will break down and let rubber pieces come through. Could it be soot from the burner, or could it be the new hose it was rated to 212 degrees. What could the problems be any help would be grateful.

Did the coil freeze at all over the winter? Sometimes ice will form in the pipe and stretch it slightly, breaking off the crust inside your coil.

I had that happen last week we have a electric hot water unit that is a spare that was stored for 4 months. When it was cranked up it was black with a combination on water oil and carbon that completely clogged a dual lance. Ended up running about 10 gallons thru it and it cleaned out and spent a hour dis assembling the wand and tip to clean it.

I had anti-freeze in it but who knows it could have. what can be done to fix this. It seems like it is a crust.

I have had them so crusted up that they did not need to freeze. Freezing is a rarity here, and it was in the summer. Don't wash something and let it dry like that, particularly cars. You will get a bunch of little brown rust spots, if you do.

Ok to descale this unit can I use vinegar or citric acid over night will this hurt the pump if i run it through it. I helped my brother run a hot water unit several years ago, but I did not have to deal with the up keep on it. to make a long story short I have to make this business work on the side because I got a divorce last year and I am in college full time. thanks every one for your input I worked with my brother for five years so I know how to work just not work on the units haha. there is a big difference. I would go to my brother but he is an idiot and can't help me.
