Pressure Washing Solar Window Screens

I keep getting job requests that I've never done before...

Tomorrow morning I am meeting a customer who needs his solar window screens pressure washed. Apparently, his home owner's insurance is paying to have them pressure washed (didn't really understand WHY insurance is paying for it, but will hopefully find out more tomorrow).

So, my question is two-fold:

1) How do you pressure wash solar screens? I honestly didn't think it was possible, but the customer said his insurance company insisted on it. I assume I have to use a really low pressure?

2) Anyone have any experience dealing with insurance companies? Anything I should know and be aware of? According to the home owner, the insurance company has allotted $221 to have the screens on his home cleaned. What I failed to ask is if he will pay me and get reimbursed, or if I have do deal with his insurance directly.

Get the money from him. Let him deal with waiting on the insurance company.

Try scrubbing the screens with a soft bristle brush and a good soap then rinsing with soft wash nozzles from your pressure washer. They get really dirty and the soap will help loosen the dirt so you get a good clean.

Thanks for the input everyone.

I visited the home owner. The hail damage was on the roof, and when they replaced the roof, a lot of dust got on the solar screens. The insurance is paying to have the screens cleaned.

Do you typically remove the screens when you clean? The only reason I ask is that the second floor screens are held in by screws on all four corners. I'm thinking I'm going to try to keep those in place clean them with my extension pole. I really don't want to be on a ladder that high trying to take out/in screws on every window if I don't have to.

Sweet man. If something sounds too complicated, I've learned to pass on it... It's usually burned me and really, I've been learning very quickly about the 80/20 rule.

80% of your money comes from 20% of your clients, Applies to lots of things actually
