Pressure washers purchase

For the past 20 plus years we have been purchasing our electric pressure washers from Northern Tool, North Star division. Multiple purchases of pressure washers and accessories, plus multiply referrals. There has been no inkling of recognition, thanks or consideration with service or pricing. An example was an o ring kit for over $100.00. When we questioned the outrageous price it was, too bad so sad. Take it or leave it. We are now looking for a comparably priced 115 or 120v machines from competitive companies. Can any of you guys make any suggestions. Middle man sellers are overpriced.

If you have been in business over 20 years should you not be able to afford to pay a profit to a middle man that will keep you going in business for another 20 years? With that said there are many places to buy what you are looking for from the vendors on this site.

Find a local dealer that you will support and they will support you. Or like Hal said use one of the vendors here that support our industry.
I have been buying Coca Cola products for 35 years, and they don't care either.

Thats for all your help guys but I am waiting for a constructive response to my specific question. Looking for a vendor other than Northern, North Star, that sells comparably priced electric pressure washers. If you don't know of any please keep your comments for another poster.

If you want something that is priced at the same level you will only get the same problem you have now. A good example when I worked in the auto mechanics we would see a lot of cheap domestic cars ie sunfires and cavaliers. You see auto manufactures would sell you a cheap car, but make it so that you would be back every 25000 km's for brakes and other things. They made their money not on the sale of the car, but selling you parts and service later. These cheap pressure washers are throw away in terms of when things break they figure you will throw it out rather then fix it. If you were to pay twice as much, but have easy access to parts and service would you not make up the extra cost of the pressure washer in time down?

You could also say I can buy 2 and have a backup. Only problem is that unless you carry the backup with you everywhere you could easily lose a couple hours going to get it to replace the first one.

I don't follow 120v pressure washers as I need a lot more then what they can offer. I do build all my own pressure washers though and I build them so that I can get parts and fix them on the fly. This means researching pumps, motors, rebuild kits, unloaders, frames, everything that could break on you.

One other idea have you ever though of just replacing the pump with something with better access to parts?

Good luck I hope you find what you are looking for.

You're wasting your time posting Benjamin.

You are getting what you pay for. You could go with the garden hose technique and not even waste money on the expense of a pressure washer. I don't know how effective it would be on used plastic, though.
