Pressure Pro Problem

Have a 8gpm machine that blew water out of the pop off valve today....had temp at 200 when it blew water everywhere. My pressure was good but I can't figure out why it went off.....reduced temp to 140 and it worked fine the rest of the day......4600psi pop off.......

seems like a pressure switch problem, does it happen when the burner is off. I had a similar problem previously and the plunger inside the switch housing was not traveling the distance properly.

or you could have some trash in the lines blocking flow. Do you have an external filter on your feed line

Gene does it have a allen wrench adjustment on the end and a little hose barb coming off the bottom of it? Some do, you can usually just adjust it in a 1/4 to a 1/2 turn. and it will be OK. My pressure pro 8gpm has the adjustment. I have had to turn it in a few times over the past couple years it finally maxes out. In a pinch you can actually run it with the water spraying out, but you may get SLIGHT pressure lose. I just put a 1/4 clear braided hose on the hose barb coming of it so the water wouldnt blast all over the maching

It can also be a bad blow off. I had one that was new and just kept blasting water I changed it and it was fine.

Thx for all the replys.....ambient temp was about 60 and it ran fine all day at 140...just figuied it might be a tempature limit switch of some kind.....will see what today brings....have kitchen to do...

Check the allen key adjustment on it. Sometimes they vibrate loose lowering the point when it would blow out. Usually there is a green line on it marking the correct position, see if yours is lined up.

Running high heat for long periods then suddenly stopping can cause them to blow when they are set very close to operating pressure.
