practice wood deck

You can go back and feather in those stop marks with the wand so they are less noticeable.

Little blotchy and a semi trans stain will look blotchy.

What should I do to correct the blotchy appearance?

Use a light bleach solution 1part 12% 4 parts water pressure wash /rinse again real good then brighten.

Shane, why wouldnt you use sodium percarbonate to reclean the wood and then brighten with oxalic acid?

Well It's been a proven way for me over the years to clean a non stained deck and I've never had to re-clean after using bleach to clean.

I was always to to never use bleach on bare wood????

It's a myth that's been discussed for a long time that bleach will damage the wood. " MYTH BUSTED" I'm maintaining decks, fences ,cedar houses etc that I've cleaned with bleach since I've started in wood restoration 14 yrs ago. When a good oil base stain is used on a deck it will keep the wood from drying out that can be caused by the bleach.

See pics below how this deck was cleaned with the same mixture and process i mentioned in the previous post.

Yeah, I think Shane has crushed that myth easily. I'm guessing the companies selling high priced percarb cleaner don't want you using bleach and cutting into their dough. I've had great results with BOTH cleaners, and am now only using bleach in many cases.
