Just answering that first one would I do it again? many night after the guys have blown a motor done the wrong job done it wrong all together ,, the answer would be yes. Know this last week I’ve taken off everything’s been wonderful and all’s well, no I would trade it for anything. Does that answer it, we all will second-guess it sometimes and if it get bad enough where out.

You have a lot of smart friends,, they been reading the Wall Street journal or some sort of publication or television. Since 1995 they predicted that the service industry would grow over 500% I believe since we have gone over that prediction. I agree with friend to need to grind everyday to look for work and hustle constantly to make sure your crews are busy and not know what you have going on for tomorrow much less next month would drive me nuts.

Concentrate on getting some steady accounts, then when the deck sealing is slow your not loosing key people.

Diversifying is good, not necessary. You have hood-cleaning business, flat work on commercial bldg. shopping centers. Indoor kitchen floors in restaurants. Oh yeah Fleet washing all year round. its cold but hey look for indoor work. I know that you have some transportation companies that have indoors wash bays that are heated check it out. John I have friends in jersey that do flat work only and say they only loose about 30 days every winter due to cold whether.

John stick with it, work up a new game plan. Its easier than starting over in something. I know you will and that was a good post by Jon Fife. Read that book get some motivation that’s what it comes down too.

This would be a great topic to start in upcoming weeks,, going into winter??? I know so many who struggle and I think I can help,, the guy in the desert can help!!!!!!!

I once ran in the winter and still need to use my skills to assist others that I know and am affiliated with in the Midwest region.

My best friend also like I said lives in Jersey.

Ron,
As you can tell I like to pick people's brains about ideas and what not and I new you would respond to my post on the other bb. I am not going anywhere. The point I was alluding to in that post was that I would like to get steady work were I can have my workers doing it while I take it easy once in awhile.

I have another career which pays me well but my passion lies in the powerwshing industry. In a nut shell I am always working. I also spend quality time with my wife and kids. What it comes down to is I feel exhausted alot and just turning 40 at times I feel a hell of alot older. So with that being said I will hopefully in the future shift my work schedule somewhat where I can have other guys do more of the physical end and I will do the managing end like my friends do in there businesses. The problem I have so far is in my residential field I get either to much work(Which is good) to not enough work which is where I'm at now. Am I at a crossroads......no because I get paid well on my other job. But I like to succeed in whatever I do and I will succeed in business to the point I want to be or I will move on and take it easy. So as far as me quitting this business the answer is no not anytime soon. But being in business like we are, I am all eyes and ears when it comes to other peoples Ideas....like yourself.:) :) :)

Would I sell out, for the right price yes just like that.

I am an opportunist, I will always make money doing something I like.

And I would not look back either, always look where your walking and you will get what you want.

Well said Jon. Short and to the point.
Money is important but if one can no longer stand the job they have that brings in the money then yes its time to move on.

Thats why I will stay in this business because I love it. I may be able to make more money in a different field but my heart is in Powerwashing. With that being said I still will like to improve the bottom line which is $$$$. Some guys are content in where they are at now but I'm not. Hopefully one day I will be but I'm definitely not there yet.

I wonder how many of us here are content with there business at this point in there lives? I would be willing to bet alot of us are content in our home lives but business wise it would be interesting to know who in our community is truly content. Out of everybody who I know that post in these bb's I think that you Jon, Dan S. and Larry(Bigboy) are the most content. I'm not saying this in a negative way. You 3 seem to be very happy where your at business wise and for that I tip may hat to you guys. But what about the others. I wonder if they feel content about there business?

I will post this question also on the "other" bb.
