Power Washing In North Carolina

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW THE POWER WASHING BUSINESS IS IN NORTH CAROLINA ?

What part of NC?

Worked for us so far but it depends on what you want to wash - NC was the newbie hatchery last fall and early spring so we have right many companies - if you can find a niche, you got no problems :)

I Was Thinking Around Charlotte, But Like I Said I Know Nothing About North Carolina At All. I Like Power Washing Vinyl Houses So I Would Have To Find Out If Most Houses Are Built By Brick Or Vinyl Siding. But On The Other Hand I Would Power Wash Whatever I Had To To Get By.

My personal opinion - if I were to move to Charlotte and had the proper capital, I'd be all over a Clean Up America franchise. Charlotte has concrete for days and days - parking lots......flatwork would be awesome. There are a right good many contractors in the Charlotte area - we even have some high end customers in that area. If you could get in bed with a good builder, new construction is pretty good there now, both resi & commercial.

ARE THERE A LOT OF VINYL HOUSES:confused:

A lot of new developments use a mixture of vinyl and brick - vinyl on new houses isn't a big cleaning avenue. Getting into established neighborhoods may be hard with the number of "in place" businesses - that's why I suggested a niche service as opposed to a more general one.

i have to figure out how to add and change information. im not really sure what signature means.

Mike -

Welcome to the board first off!!

Secondly - to fill out your signature area you will click on the "USER CP" link at the top of the page. Next on the left hand side you will click on " EDIT SIGNATURE". You will see a box in the middle of the screen, you will be able to type your information there

Company Name
Location
Ph #
Website

This is the template that most people use. If you need further help, dont hesitate to call me, I can walk you through it on the phone if you would like!

Good Luck

Mike: I cant speak in terms of pressure washing in general but I will tell you what worked for me. I specialize in wood. Thats all I do. It works well because I dont market for housewashes with a million other companies and then try to upsell the deck. I just sell the deck and could care less what they do with the house. No one in my area specializes in wood.

Point is there is a niche for everyone. Yea theres tons of pressure washing companies in NC. However: it doesn't even affect my business in the least bit.

I realize most people probably think this is a terrible idea, but if I were to be a pressure washing company I would do something like just driveways. All your marketing, and company information is for cleaning driveways. You tell your customers "we specialize in cleaning driveways". When someone needs their driveway cleaned...you be the first one they think of.

Im not a fan of companies offering a laundry list of services. It works for some people I guess, but I hate getting an ad or postcard with line after line of stuff the company does. You could do house washes and what not too, but market them separate.

Disclaimer: I have very little experiance in marketing and no experiance at all in anything other than wood. Im just making the point that if you are going to be just another pressure washing company in NC you can join the ranks of many. Im sure you could succeed just fine, but have a specialty to make you stand out

your 100% right. my thing here is definitely houses so i guess you can say im known for that. i do decks & seal but i get a lot of customers who want there decks stained. staining to me takes away from my power washing so i feel if i stain i lose money. its too time consuming.

NC versus SC

I know that I am responding to an old post, but I'm sitting here doing my usual day-off activity -- reading old posts on PWI.
Boy, am I a loser, or what.
Anyway, reagrding the post about the business in North Carolina, let me say on authority that there are far too few pressure washers in NC, way too many in South Carolina. You'd be wasting your time coming here...
Good luck up there!
