postal meters

Does anyone use postal meters in stead of stamps? I have one and have been using it for some time now. I love the fact that I get to print the stamp instead of putting a sticker on the page, it looks a lot more professional. However, it seems to take much longer to get to the destination. I dont know if my meter is having issues. I sent some items last friday to a city 75 miles away and had people telling me that they did not get there until yesterday and today. I have even had things come up missing. I did a post card mailing in Feburary and I got some returned as late as May.

Anyone else having same issues?

Post card returns take months sometimes, it is not a priority for the postal service.
I find that my metered mail typically gets to the destination faster, I think it is because it can run throught the scanning equipment faster.
We have had different meters over the years. We no longer use pitney bowes and now we have Neopost (about 6 years) and have it connected via modem for auto postage refills.

PB was always twisting my arm telling me we needed to upgrade due to USPS regulations and the volume of our mailings. I checked with our local postmaster and he said the meter met all the requirements and any volume issues were just a sales gimmick to get us to spend more money or sign a new lease.
Hasn't happened with Neopost (yet)

Ok Ron we forgive your bad spelling. you can type responses again. Dont make us watch you talk!!!

we started with sticker stamps back in 98 then went to PB then we tried stamps.com, now almost everything is emailed as a PDF.

In 2006 we were billing out over 1000 accounts per month, all but about 20 or so were emailed through Quickbooks as a receipt after billing their Credit card.

We don't have near that many individual customers now, but we're still doing it that way.

It it is a matte finish, it will print fine. If it is glossy, it will still print, just be sure not to let the ink touch anything until it dries or it will smear.

We only do those who want this for invoicing.
