Polymeric sand

Mmmmmm Moldy Sand :canoodle:

sorry couldn't help myself.

Yes I have. I recomend not useing it after 6 months to a year mold grows in it and is locked in.

I need to lock the joints or I will end up, losing the account (cleaned biweekly). Sealing is not possible. I have to figure somtn out by locking the joints only .

Im still waiting for answer from these guys.

I don't really do many paver jobs but what about talking to them about the situation and explaining to them that just about anything you put into the joints will be blown out every time you clean.

Maybe something a little more permanent like an epoxy or grout to fill in the joints? It can be colored to look like sand. That way after it has cured some, it should take the pressure and then no more re-sanding. Otherwise you are looking at re-sanding after every cleaning and have to charge them for it.

Polymeric sand won't blow out. I didn't know about the mold thing. We had a homeowner call us that botched a patio job and let it rain on it before he broomed the excess off. Water sets it up pretty hard.

We used hot water and a surface cleaner with two trips over it and it turned out great. It didn't remove the sand in the joints. He was sweating bullets before we got there it was a real mess.

I use regular sand from the beach here. its soo fine like flour that when i clean any pavers i take a couple a sandbags and after the cleaning broom it in.
