Vote on this poll, its a good poll.

I'm always curious about what products are truly number one.

Apparently Russel has raised price and some may abandon his product.

My question is if you raised your price, would you want your customers to leave you?
plainpainter Well, Russell has raised the price so much on his product, and if Scott doesn't keep the price down on his site - I will abandon woodtux on price. California storm stain, Muralo, Defy - are some of the things I will be experimenting with.

Everyone's sealer prices are going up. Ready Seal went up, Sikkens, Cabot, they are all up this year, and the best advice I have - don't absorb it people, raise your prices too!

It is funy because I have thought of this lately as I lost a customer last year due to a higher price. She ditched me for $150 and this is in a gated community in OP, Florida. She has the money, but there again people seem to care about being able to afford $100 scotch than keeping their house protected from the Florida elements.

I lost another customer and friendship over my price raises too. I had not changed prices for 3 years on this guy, but when I got married and things started to change as needed I went up on everyone to reflect what I needed to justify my business. He owns a huge mortgage company, several houses. One house 1000ft of dock. He aint hurting. When he saw my price increase I got the cold shoulder and was told I cant do that.

The question if I would want to lose a customer over a price increase. Yes!! Because if they will not accept the first increase they sure will not accept he yearly increases hereafter. My goal is to provide a service to benefit the customer. Provide a income for my family. Pay the business bills and taxes. Create some new relationships with my homeowners I serve. However, I am not going to let friendships to get in the way of growing my business and I have to look after my family. Nothing against them, but where will they be in 20 years most likely with the way people tend to be nomadically?

Price increases=coming yearly buddy!
Final answer=Let the underqualified serve you or if you can not afford to keep up your current home then downsize to what you can afford. It is something I live by.
