What a night. My wife and I along with my female partner(the one with the black hair) and her husband won the final score on a $50 box. Second straight year I won on a box like that but believe me I am not a gambler. I go to AC to get comped and hardly ever gamble so I can get free rooms. I am a laborer and always will be. Very rarely except the last 2 years do I ever win at betting which is why I don't ever bet usually except on sure things such as I know Mike Tyson Never fought Riddick Bowe because I worked in that area(Not the best place to be) and that community just could not get them to fight. I did win a few bets on that because I know the factual answers cause I worked there.
My partner is not well liked on my "Other" job because she is the first and only female in 85 yrs to be hired there. She is in a tough position but she is well qualified. NYPD cop of the year twice and also a kick boxing champion but still.... you know how guys are. I am by far now the Senior person on my job. My other partners are half my age. I was against hiring her because my job is not conducive for females the way the place is. I felt bad for her and she is no doubt better then all of us so today we work together. I got her in to this invitation only to meet some people and to really shut the other guys up where I work.

The first pic you see me with the Nassau County Exec who is in charge of the county that was taken over by the state. Big story here. The pics with Alphonse Damato are on my wifes camera. Known Al for years. The pic with the guy in the black shirt is Frank Mackay the chairmen of the Independence party nationwide. I love this guy....but truth be known....he is a frustrated republican. Still a heck of a guy. Then you see some pics of us. Lastly a hero of mine is there. I model my career after him and now all know why I never made boss. Its the one and only Steven Guttenburg from the Police academy movies and 3 men and a baby. Fun night but back to reality Monday morning. Looks like where going to do a nice size parking garage in April for once again 6 cents a sq'. Like I said I am a laborer and thats what I do best

Tonight was fun.

A little story for some of you guys.. this last picture is of my friend Bill who sat at my table tonight. In the year 2000 him and I and a few others had a night to kill. We started an investment group that took a bunch of us together to have a million dollar credit rating. We did it and we picked off stocks before they became IPO's. That in itself is a story for one day. On that night in 2000 me and some friends went to Spark Steak house in Manhattan first. From there we had 15th row seats to see Andrew Dice Clay at the Garden. The show was sold out. The girls there love to flash him so you can imagine what it was like around my seat. From there we went to another restaraunt that not even Madonna can get in since there is probably a 2 yr waiting list http://www.raos.com/raos-restaurant-new-york.aspx I;ve ate there twice. This night was legendary in John Tornabene's world. At Sparks steak house a dopey friend of mine gets hammared. As I am buying cigars for the boys he announces in his drunken stuper that me and him the tab is on us. The other guys jumped on it and said wow thats great. Two of the guys there were for one a young kid who is a Genius and also James Gandolfini from the Soprano's at that time's broker. He was 27 at best. Another guy there is going to the world series that night with Spike Lee sitting in $2500 seats so you know he's loaded. My jerkoff friend said his stupid remark and me as I am back him. Man was I pissed. The bill there was $1600 just for dinner.

The night ends in Raos for some world class cheesecake. The Yankees are up on the Mets 3 games to 1. The game comes down to Mike Piazza and I am I swear the only Met fan in there. Mike hits the ball deep and I', screeming for it to go out of the park. Ball is caught and the dramatic game ends. Everybody is jumping up and down. Me I sit there and say in a different word DARN!!! The guy in the pic I'll just say his name is Bill. He gets bent about something and now he wants to throw down in that place. Believe me its not a place to thrown down. Bill is great and he is a guy who I would always want covering my back. Nobody gets hurt but for a second there is was a bit crazy.

Anyway today those distant fond memories are just that. This is a pic of my friend Bill who also sat with us tonight. These guys have all done well and I have PW for a few of them and they complain that I charge alot.... Hey to bad. I do what I can but labor intensive work I get my money. They get a great job and we get paid.... and where all good.

My wifes best friends brother Arthur grew up with Frankie Pellegrino in Oceanside LI. We have gone twice ourselves, only because thats his table and 2 or 3 times a year he will give it up for friends or family. They call him "Frankie No" @ Rao's because that is what he tells everyone that asks for a table. That place is a landmark up in East Harlem for 100 yrs!! It was once a real tight Italian neighborhood. I buy there gravy at the supermarket down here in FL. When I worked @ Fultons Fish Market in Mannhattan in the 80's I would see his guy's everyday come down to buy all the fresh seafood for the place.

Frankie had a small part in the Soprano's as an FBI Guy, funny that you mention Rao's because Arthur was just telling us about the shoot out @ Rao's a few years ago and I happen to be in NYC at the time on vacation. I still have the headlines from the daily news or the post not sure, but it said "Bulletts Bolognese @ Rao's"..I laughed my ass off when I seen the headlines...only in NY. I think some guy got pissed off because he didnt like who was singing that night and one thing lead to another...BANG !! There are only about 10 tables or so at Rao's and they are all spoken for. You can only get in if you know someone willing to give up their seat for you, and thats very rare just like John said. Hands down the best italian food on the planet, I have their cookbook and make dishes from it often.

Good story John !!:wave3:

Hey Nick- Frankie No is a legend beyond belief. He is the third Generation Owner of Rao's and I had the honor of meeting him when I went there. A real Class guy second to none. Matter of fact they Had "The top Chef show" this past week where they had to cook at Rao's. Lorraine Bracco who was the Shrink in the Soprano's was a guest Judge.
Bo Dietl the Legendary NY cop owns that large table there when you first walk in and your right about that guy "lump lump" who shot and killed the nut who was making fun of the Singer.

I remember when Hillary Clinton and Madonna where both denied a chance to dine there. They were put on the waiting list back then which was in the range of 2 yrs wait. John F. Kennedy JR. dined there just two weeks before he went down in that plane crash.
Rao's has a rich history and I can't think of any place anywhere that has such a long waiting list and the who's who they turned down at the door.

Anyone that snubs Hillary and Madonna has to be top notch. Would that be great to be in that position or what?

The recipes on their website are killer. Which of their cookbooks do you have Nick?
