i had planed on advertising in the cleaner times. wow!!!!! its more than i thought. anyway i will direct mail some people on monday & tuesday. will see how that works.

any ideas where we should be posted things like that , please let me know. maybe i guess i should ask beth in the marketing sections.

SO how much is it to advertise in Cleaner Times? I'm sure they are cheaper then most magazines that are nation wide but still more expensive then conventional advertising in this business.

I would imagine that a post like this would go in the marketing section. I like the section where you have mindless blabbering. When I talk to my wife about PW she gives me the look like I'm doing just that. Who could blame her. She likes it when I talk about how much I made though. I make it she spends it.LOL
 
Oh boy,

Just talked about some of that today with chuck, that’s the sales rep with cleaner times.

I don’t want to miss quote so I would say the guess is around 800.00 a month all the way up to 1800.00 depending on size and color. I don’t have the sheet in front of me, I will get the exact numbers later.

I’m thinking about just placing a small classified. Maybe?

Out of curiosity, I wonder how big there circulation is per month.
I would guess a decent size for circulation per month would have to be around 500,000 copies. If there #'s are somewhat near that then maybe advertising with them for the amount you stated is not that bad ....if your selling something that is.

I bought a deck sealing tape off them a couple of years ago. You might know the one "How to make a $100/hr cleaning sealing decks. I bet ya the person that put that tape in there made a decent amount of dough. At least from me he did.
 
Did the tape you bought on Cleaning/sealing decks help you? Are you doing a lot of that work now?

I'd say around 50% of my income from my business is probably Cleaning/staining/sealing decks. The tape was pretty good if you don't have much knowledge on how to do this. But considering that Ive been doing this for a few years now everything on that tape I pretty much new already.

If your interested in having the tape and the literature that came with it I'll sell it to you for half price which in that would include the shipping so in essense you would be getting it for even less.

Or make me an offer that you think is fair and e-mail it to me. Whatever don't buy it from the magazine because I'll give it to you for much less.

No. I wouldn't say I'm a deck specialist as of yet. I still need to learn more about strippers and brightners and which ones work the best. I'm always experimenting when it comes to chemicals.

What I do know is how to complete a job in a reasonably fast amount of time and achieve excellent results. Thats the jist of the tape that I purchase from a Cleaner Times Magazine classified add which I pretty much learned on my own before hand.

Maybe in another year I could be called a wood/deck specialist.

I have made the final abbreviations.

Specialists would be considered beginners. pros are experts. I’m thinking of doing that sorta thing based on posts.


Will see nothing permanent of for sure right now.

I just believe you qualify to read more than just member?

I'm kinda confused. Are you saying that you want to give certain titles for the amount of post that one does?

An idea just popped up in my head. Here's something to think about. If lets say someone post the most for the month of may they could get maybe the title as "post of the month club-May" someone who does it for june could get "post of the month club-June" etc. or do the same thing for lets say the most interesting post of the months and give that person the title of "post of the month-May. And by the end of the year maybe give a small prize to the person with the most "post of the month club" citations. Just an Idea.

Lets face it what makes these bb's work is the different variations of posts and the amount of responses they get that make it interesting. If they don't get any responses then you can look up other ones that fall into these catogories such as 'Lightning Clean" Remember that guy? He had his own bb that failed.

Are you stealing my ideas? Yes I’m working on something and all impute is appreciated.


I have not decided your right I need to do something. What? I don’t know exactly yet. I want to take a little more time and see what happens when we start marketing the bb a little.


I do how ever think that some folks including yourself have earned a right to where a badge that says I have already put my time in. I not sure that a set number of post will make me or other like me post any more of different. I do believe prizes can work. Nothing serious that is. Maybe a wand or gun. Maybe some o-rings. Something symbolizing a trophy.
