Other ventures?

I'm just wondering if many of you have other businesses that you or your significant others have opened.

I am currently thinking of opening a few retail, e-commerce and possibly something wholesale distributing online and to developers.

None of the businesses will be related to PW but I'm just doing my homework first. I'd like to commit to starting 7-10 within the next two years.

What have your experiences been in these types of areas?
 
Opening 7-10 more businesses? WOW! After working 60 hours a week running a company and then trying to open my own PW company in March, I barely have enough time with the wife and kids. Good luck on your ventures. You are more brave than I.

I would talk to Scrappy about that one !!
 
If you learn a lot about marketing and website SEO, that will carry over into a lot of online businesses.
 
I also Sell used turf equipment for Futures Golf Equipment to golf courses, parks, schools, and homeowners that have large properties.
We sell Toro John Deere Jacobsen and all allied turf equipment.
Still waiting on website to be finished.....

That's the goal, for them to be e-commerce in one way or another. I am considering starting one of those party businesses, but I need an original idea. I am also looking at some stuff that could carry over and be sold to developers. Have you seen what it costs to buy kitchens, saunas, steam/spa showers etc? I would love to buy these direct from the manufacturers and then only mark them up a tiny bit! I also have some thoughts on how I could make them rank on Google and other engines well, which I believe is half the battle.

I am an ambitious girl :)
With the businesses I'm looking at most of my work could be done from home and at anytime of the day. It's a win win for me, I am home with the children as well as carrying on with some type of career.

If they most of them take off I can always hire someone.

You just have to be better than the others
 
mine is only a summer type deal, but am looking to grow a bit more this year.
 
We are starting up a P/W gone wild wet T-Shirt contest on the beach in Ft Laurderdale this summer!!
 
Oh boy, Who is going to do the wet tshirts? Nick, larry, Kory, Ron, who else? I must say I will pass on that one lol
