Old account

4 years ago this month, I landed a decent sized account. about 2 years ago, I got out of pressure washing on a full time basis and as a result, I lost this account. The guy I had doing it just let it go and as a result of me being preoccupied with my new venture two years ago, I did not do anything about it.

Two years after getting canned from that account, I have been back into pw full time for about 6 months now and have been doing most of my work "behind the scenes" to get this company organized so one day we can reach Ron status.

What is the best way to reapproach this company. Suggestions, help is appreciated.

Thanks

I guess I should note that due to the past with these guys I have not allowed my sales guy to talk to them. I sent him a letter about 3 months ago but have not followed up with him due to the work I was doing. We focus on concrete, however, this is a fleet account.

You might try going by and talking to him in person and explain the situtation that led to not doing the work and what you can offer them at this time.

In person with the truth always works for me. A letter is easy to hit the round file with. A handshake and an explanation will get you the account back or a friendly "hit the road" and no more wondering and go on.

Would you guys suggest setting up a time to talk to him via phone or just "pop in"

I believe I would give him a call and let him know what you wanted to talk to him about and try to set up a meeting.

That is what I was thinking but I would like some more peoples opinion.

I think what Rick said is (in my opinion) the best way to go. Just my .02

I'd just pop in.

If you have not been to this customers location for an extended period of time, there are probably different things going on! They may have new problems that you could help them with.

If you can go in the back door!:)
