Henry Bockman

Maryland Pressure Washing
Every day I visit this BBS and it seems like those "hood" guys are taking over PWI. As one of the "other" power washing service providers that visit this board I say it's time to take a vote! :D

We all know that hood cleaners work just as hard as the rest of us but who really rules in the power washing industry when it comes to popular services?

Voters are welcome to make multiple choices on this Public Poll
If you would like to vote for another service, please post in the thread.

;)

What is the most popular service provided by power washers?

From the Edge of the Shortgrass Prairie:

Clear out here where the east peters out, nobody knew anything about any of these services except for decks, fleets, and a few that had heard of flatwork. The ones that had heard of flatwork had never heard of a surface cleaner.

Makes salesmanship paramount, people think I'm peddling some scheme until they see photos and/or a demo.;)

Hey guys, it sounds like Henry has a grudge against hood cleaners. Lets each send him a bucket of grease!

Hey Henry there are only two kinds of people in this world hood cleaners and those who wish they were.

This is a great topic; I truly believe that flat work is the largest by far.

My reasons are that in every type of pressure cleaning everyone has done some flat work.

Deck work guys cleaning driveways and walks. Hood guys do floors and rear areas at restaurants.

Fleet guys do loading docks and warehouses.

On another note hood guys are probably the largest with fleets running a second place.

The reason I would exclude decks is not everywhere in the world do people use wood. We all have restaurants and trucks.

House washing doesn’t happen in phoenix much.

House Washing

My vote was for house washing. About the only homes that I clean are for family and friends. Everyone can pressure wash. If you dont believe me just ask anyone. Nothing was ever said about professionalism in the washing. Anyone with a thousand bucks and the desire to make a few hundred bucks a year can get into "business" in pw. I guess they would need $ 1,002. They have to have bleach.
As far as professionalism with the industry I would have to say fleet washing. This is only because that is about 90 % of my business so I see the competition in it whereas I do not see first hand the competition in other areas.

If you want to see hood cleaners...you have to stay up late at night!

Nah I don't have anything against hood cleaners... I just figured it was about time that some other topics were brought up on this BBS for a change. Personally I feel that every "type" of power washing is important. Some of us just decided we didn't want to stay up all night working! We all have our niche, that's what makes power washing such a great industry.

Too late FED-EX has a bucket coming for you!

Once you have done a hood, you appreciate the importance...it will effect the dining expereince in the restaurant as a consumer. We don't do hoods anymore, but I still peek at the hoods if they are installed in a place you can see them. And I don't mind saying, I like them free of build up and no large grease drips!!!!
